It's by far the most expensive round of golf I've ever played but it's also the most memorable round because of the experience. An unbelievably beautiful course that even the pictures don't fully convey. Though very challenging and much above the skill of myself and my two duffer companions, we still agreed it was nevertheless worth submitting ourselves to the punishment. Our caddy was extremely personable and knew the course like the back of his hand. His direction on the greens even allowed us to drop in some pretty decent putts. Biggest recommendation I would make to management: replace those eight year-old rental clubs -- a course of this stature should have better equipment. With so many places on my list I don't know if I'll ever make it back to the Dominican Republic but if I do, Punta Espada will be first on my list.
this golf course is fun, interesting, well maintained and has some incredible views! On top, the caddies are very nice and there knowledge of the course is very valuable
My husband & I played golf three times here and had a blast! The course is challenging but with guidance from our fore caddy I had some decent rounds. Best views with most holes along the ocean. Expensive but really made our trip more enjoyable since we had so many issues with our hotel. Orlando was our favorite - he was very attentive and funny!
Went to the Hard Rock Resort for several days and heard the reviews of Punta Espada and had to try it. I was a single since the other husbands in our large group elected to stay on property. To begin, the course is located in a gated region near Punta Cana called Cap Cana. It is absolutely beautiful and approximately 15-20 mins from the airport and 40 mins from the Hard Rock Casino. I booked through golf punta cana and the provided transportation in their quote of $375. This also included caddie fee, range balls, and golf. The course is truly spectacular. It reminds me of Torrey Pines, Kapalua or Pebble Beach with more holes on the ocean. Even the holes away from the ocean are gorgeous and the fairways are meticulously groomed. I am from East Tennessee and play many exclusive mountain courses in our area and this course was so much more. My caddie Franscisco was very knowledgable and read the greens perfectly. I have not played Teeth of the Dog but heard from others in our transport van that Punta Espada is better.Don't miss the opportunity and was the best golf course I have played.
Stunning golf course in fantastic shape and an extremely memorable round. Highly recommended and tough enough to challenge the most accomplished golfer. Nicklaus hard but stunningly beautiful.
This is a very nice golf course; but it is over priced, the management is not very friendly and if it doesn't work out deals with the local hotels, they will find themselves all alone with what could be their business going elsewhere. Most of us avid golfers travel with family and though in my mind the golf is the destination, that is not the case with the rest of the family. This isn't Pebble Beach and there are other courses that are equal or better in the area.
I played the course twice on a recent visit. It is a really fun; challenging and fair course that is beautifully maintained. The course is picturesque throughout with amazing water views on more than half of the holes and on quite a few of the holes the water was crashing on the rocks by the greens or the tees. I was not overly impressed with my caddie experience but it didn't detract from the experience. Unfortunately, I made the mistake of being a lazy traveler choosing to rent clubs on my visit and the quality of the clubs available was abysmal (nine years old; rusty and broken in some cases). I would have thought that a course like this would have had club manufacturers clamoring to stock them.
Played here on 3rd of jan, greens were in great shape, some great sea holes, looked after very well in club house, had a nice lunch there too.
Imagine the perfect weather (sunny but with wind), 8 holes so close to the sea that you could jump in it and a quality of fairways, greens, course design that you could find in PGA tour! You are not dreaming, you have just played a round in the best golf course ever!Only "little" problem is green fee price but it worthy!!!
