When we arrived we were greeted nicely. The ambience is not bad overall. Cute place. However when you get up to the top to do your tastings watch out! I asked to be poured a sample of one of their wines. I waited and waited. The woman poured my friends 3 samples and 2 other girls as well. Finally after asking 3 times she pours me ice cold red wine. I decide I will buy 2 bottles in the end. And she charges me for tastings. The girls who bought nothing... No charge for their tastings!?! Needless to say.... I won't recommend and be back!
Beautiful old barn with passionate winemaker. Paul gave us a through history and education of the vineyard. Jennifer was charming and knowledgable. Lovely spot for a picnic and wine tasting.
Beautiful location with a large restored barn. Bring your picnic lunch and eat outside or in the many rooms of the barn, and enjoy a glass of wine. I really enjoyed the pairing of the wine with different foods - made it a fun experience.
I am from Washington State. I was visiting my family in Kingston this summer and they suggest a drive around Prince Edward county to their favorite vineyard. Smugly I responded that my state, Washington State had 693 wineries! The area is lovely and then we came across Devils wishbone….and what a delightful surprise. Surrounded by vineyards stands this old restored barn, inside we all went and spent a lovely couple of hours, tasting reds, whites and Rosé . I purchased a few bottles of Rosé to take home to share with the local counterparts!I loved the restored old barn, the staff were knowledgeable, friendly and fun to spend an afternoon with. The owner was full of interesting information. I see why my sister makes this annual trip to this winery. I might just have to join her again next year.I highly recommend Devils Wishbone and highly recommend that you wine lovers come to the West Coast and try the wines of Washington State, they might be not be as good as Devils Wishbone, but they come pretty close….and we have the mountains!!!!!
We visited here, waupoos and the county cider company. The devils wishbone was by far the best. Really good information given on the tour and good samples of wine. No rush to leave, lovely seating areas outside. Would recommend and would visit again.
As an employee of what I consider the best winemaker/owner that I have had the pleasure to work for, I give you all my first review of The Devil's Wishbone Winery. There are close to 40 wineries in our region that have discovered the amazing "Terroir" we have here that produces the exquisite wines just waiting for your tasting pleasure. Although some individuals may find our wines not to their liking ,many others continue to enjoy them..plus the experience of visiting our century old barn re purposed as a winery and a place to sit and enjoy our mountain. I personally thank all that have become our guests and hope they continue to enjoy the fruits of Paul Gallagher's labour along with Roy,Jennifer, Kaitlin,Hadjra,Ute and our hardworking vineyard workers..and our interns from France..Anel and Alex. Drop by and enjoy as have many before you..it is a piece of heaven here @ The Devil's Wishbone..Cheers!
On a recent visit to Prince Edward County, we took the time to tour some of the wineries and this was one of our favourites. Not only was the wine delicious, the hostess was very friendly as was the owner. We were given a tour of the barn and made to feel very welcome.
Our first stop on our Prince Edward County left us worried. Had a taste of one of their wines and was charged $1. We were not expecting this and had thought that if you wanted to sell a product you would give a free taste to get the client interested. Even Costco know this and gives free samples. After the taste (as the title says mediocre) and seeing the prices we got back in the car and continued our trip. This was not the only place that was charging but we had gotten wise by the time we got to them.
Had a wonderful afternoon at the Winery over Thanksgiving. Paul and his staff explained all of their delicious wines and demonstrated their passion for their craft!Absolutely beautiful and relaxing spot.
First winery of the day this past Sunday and we were treated fabulously. We were two couples spending a lovely day in the county and all four of us had never been to this particular place so we thought we would give it a try.The woman guiding our tour was very personable and enthusiastic which we all appreciated and the entire experience was very fun and enjoyable! She guided us through the barn which was incredible to say the least! Never once did I feel unsafe and she was very clear to watch our heads when going through certain areas! Pairings with the tastings was fab and the heaters and blankets in the the tasting room was cozy and perfect:)We all had a really wonderful time,Thank you so much for having us and the fantastic service!Im personally excited to pop the Riesling I bought and share it with my friends:)We will be back for sure. Thanks again,-g
