The Shrine to Saint Anthony is quaint and nice but, the location and views are impossible to beat!Although it is quite a hike or even a car ride to the top of this mountain, the views make it well worth the trek or ride!Lots of food and drink available at the top to reward you for your efforts! If you are up for a bit more exciting way to get to the top, take the "ski lift" style chairlift to the top for additional and progressing views on your way up!
The chairlift up to the top, although a bit on the worn side, provides a nice view of the area. There is a restaurant on the top, which was closed at the time, but seems to provide a wonderful dinner location.
Amazing views a place I really recomend and do not forget to visit the restauarant right at the top or "Don Anselmo" on ocean shores you will love the fish here
There you can have a wornderful view of a a calm, charming city!
The view of the city is amazing. It really worth to take the lift in the end of the day. The sunset view is incredible.
Great 360 degree view, nice little shrine to St. Anthony, bars/restaurants, small trail down one side
From the top of the Cerro San Antonio you can get an unequalled view of the beaches of Piriapolis....a great scenic place for photos. The restaurant at the top, while not inexpensive, has a full menu, and during the summer months operates a swimming pool with poolside meal service. You can reach the summit either by car, or by chair lift which you catch at the foot of the hill near the yacht harbor. Well worth the time if you are in the area!
Although it isn't very high, the view over Piriápolis is excellent.
...all the way from Punta del Este. The ride to the top on the rickety ski lift was pretty fun, and the view is grand. We liked it so much we came back for dinner. Might as well have that chivito plate with a side of amazing views watching the sun go down.
This hilltop provides great views of the city, the countryside and the seaside but the highlight is the view of the sunset over the water. It is an easy drive up the hill but there is also apparently a way to hike it if you want the exercise. I also saw a couple of people on bikes. But however you get there, arrange your time such that it includes a sunset view. There are a couple of souvenir and convenience shops on the hilltop as well as a restaurant (that apparently only operates full time in season from what I observed...it may have limited hours in the winter). However, make note that restrooms are not so easy to find (you'll have to go into the restaurant or snack bar). But overall, the hill is a great place for photos and a breath of fresh air. If you are in Piriapolis, definitely plan to make the ascent.
