This is the most beautiful church I've seen in the U.S. Reminded me of Sainte Chapelle in Paris. The organ sounded great. If you can catch a concert it would be worth it.
Unfortunately we missed tour time, but this chapel is beautiful from the outside, and we even got a glimpse of the inside. We hope to be back!
If your looking to have a small wedding ceremony, but want that wow factor, Heinz Chapel is the best place for it. It's where I will be having mine, thats for sure. Many of my friends have married here and it was always perfect. From what I understand they are easy to get along with as well.
It feels somewhat "off" to see secular figures depicted in stained glass. But with sunlight streaming through, the windows are truly breathtaking.
The church is amazing. Our daughter wanted to have her wedding there, but no AC, and she got married in July. It is really something to see though.
Crashed a wedding rehearsal and enjoyed the pipe organ music. Beautiful architecture. Look for the spiral stairs.
I always try to visit Heinz Chapel when I am in Pittsburgh. It is a unique and gorgeous chapel. After years of visiting it and admiring it, my daughter was fortunate enough to get married there. It is also in a beautiful setting.
Our daughter got married here in May...such a beautiful cathedral...and they are so wonderful and helpful for the rehearsal and the day of the wedding..really make you feel welcome and at ease. Just a hint...she did not have flowers or a runner or anything...the cathedral itself is so beautiful and breathtaking nobody will notice those anyway.
This is a not to miss visit when at the University of Pittsburgh. a beautiful gothic masterpiece. The stained glass windows are extraordinary, but just sitting in the tranquility of the chapel in the afternoon is a great way to get in touch with your inner peace.
Stopped in during weekday morning, only ones there. Spectacular architecture and stained glass windows, with a helpful brochure at entrance. Try to attend a service or organ concert.
