The entire staff was awesome. They will take care of you from the bag boys to the starters and rangers. Beautiful facility. Great range to practice. We played the Senator first, 10 days after the LPGA event and the greens ran about 12-13. Links style golf with the most undulating greens you will find anywhere. Different tiers, tons of slope. Hit every fairway and the first 8 greens and shot 92 for a 10 handicap. Ball doesn't carry as far as it does at home and it took us awhile to learn to hit 1-2 extra clubs on a shot. The Judge is probably the finest opening 9 holes you could find. It will beat you up though. Hit just a marginal shot and you are in trouble. Undulating greens again with a ton of slope. Loved the course, we played the course and then the front 9 again because we wanted to attack it once more. Very scenic with lots of water. Played the Legislator the final day. Mixture of links and then 6 holes through woods and the final 2 links again. We enjoyed this course and the mixture of holes. Definitely at top notch facility at Capitol Hill. Can't wait to return.
Everything was great! Top notch service. Down to the Marshall on the course who brought you fresh ice cold wash cloths dipped in ice water on the 95 degree day. What a refreshing surprise. The food was great. The service from when you pull in the parking lot till you pull out of your parking spot fabulous! The course and scenery alone was beautiful. Best golf course ever!
Played all three courses at the Capitol Hill facility, and one was better then the next. Coming from a flat location as I do, the elevation changes and scenery that surrounded the holes was especially memorable. If you're in the area and you golf, don't miss the experience.
good service, tough courses. played judge and legislator. nice variety--real challenge would make this a home base for a golf buddies trip.
All three courses are different and still keep the flavor of the RTJ system. The Judge is ridiculously difficult but very rewarding as well. I miss not having these three courses in my back yard.
Played all courses - absolutely great - courses in brilliant condition and the scenery is amazing especially on the Legislator course!
It is awesome to golf but the bar and grill is super. You must try the Trial Dog...whether or not you golf, go and try the Trail Dog. The have an awesome menu and the food it great. The courses are each different and challenging, the practice ranges are like no others around. The Pro Shop is typical. Always a treat to watch the LPGA in September when they are here.
We played all the courses and found them memorable! If you enjoy challenging golf on fantastic courses this is the place to play! I have played all over the world and found the courses amount the best anywhere!
Eight of us played the Senator and Judge courses and everyone had good things to say about both. As part of the Robert Trent Jones golf trail, the clubhouse and facilities are first rate, thought they lack the unique character that the two courses exhibit. The Senator is very much a links layout with almost no trees and lots of mounds with deep grass and many bunkers to add difficulty to the small, fast and undulating greens. Where the Senator focuses your attention to the hole ahead and the many blind shots and dog-legs, the Judge is right in front of you with more water in play than any other course in the area. The Judge's reputation is well earned with lots of opportunities to "rinse" your golf ball but there are options that allow for safer plays. The setting of the Judge does afford more photographic opportunities, but the Senator was my favorite with shot-making and strategy at a premium.
You almost forget you're here to play golf. Starting with the first hole, almost every hole presents you with a jaw dropping photo opportunity. Fourteen out of eighteen holes have water coming into play. If the wind blows as it did today, you'll need an ample supply of balls. Patience is the key at this site.
