beautiful baskets of all kinds, if you can't find what you are looking for at this location then it doesn't exist. Also an interesting fruit based wine tasting/vendor also co located. If we'd had a van I would have bought a lot more!
Basketville is part of the lore and charm of Putney, Vermont, a postcard New England village. We visit there whenever we're in New England. They have an unbelievable selection of baskets (got to be thousands!) from floor to the rafters. Where do they find these things? We never fail to find a gift to take back with us, from something utilitarian like a desktop sorter, or file cabinet, to what can only be considered a work of art, like the baskets made from telephone wire in Africa. What can I say? We love the place!
A wonderful store that is so much more than baskets!! There are foods, candles, kitchen stuff, toys, wicker furniture and, of course, beautiful and great priced baskets. The fudge they make is delicious and the staff is friendly and helpful. You could easily spend 45 minutes looking at everything. I highly recommend this store to anyone traveling in the Putney area...it is just minutes off I91.
Basketville is easy to find off I91 in Putney, Vt. Went there specifically to buy a particular type of basket called "Moses Basket". Unfortunately, this was no longer available. However, the clerk was very gracious and helpful showing me 2 alternatives, one of which served my purpose. Later I asked directions from another clerk who gave them most accurately to my next rather obscure destination.
they have upscale baskets that are really beautiful. They also have Vermont foods at good prices. No idea of the quality of maple syrup but the prices were the best we have seen. Prices for pie filling mix which we tasted and bought at the Vermont country store were excellent ($3.50 vs $4.50).
As a bargain shopper and shopaholic, I asked immediately for the clearance section. This is a place to find practical storage baskets similar in style and selection as target and Ikea. Prices are average, but the 50% clearance room is worth it.There's a broad selection of edible goodies made in Vermont.
Lots and lots of baskets. Where to find gifts for Grandma, especially if she likes wicker. But you can find all of those little gifts for the relatives from m
We try to go every year at this time and are never disappointed. It was a Tuesday mid-morning and the place was all ours. Their array of items is spaced out well and new items attract us each time we go. It's a must-visit place. You're bound to find many items to choose from.
Big ones, little, ones, round ones, rectangular ones. If its not here, they don't exist. What a charming store!
I am not into baskets but loved the place. We attended the Wine Tasting. There are all fruit wines and very sweet if you like sweet wines. We did purchase a semi dry wine made from Rhuebarb that tasted very good. I also found a deck of cards with the Vermont map on them for my young Grandson who collects cards. The only place I seen them in. They also had jellies, maple syrup and many other items besides baskets. Nice place to stop and visit in.
