We stayed in town. From there we had easy access for many half day road trips. We toured around the lake and orchards visiting some local wineries. Wapato Cellars and Lake Chelan Winery were both very welcoming and had a great variety of wines. Another trip was to Winthrop for lunch. Driving a loop to Bridgeport and back was another scenic trip. Our view of the lake was great with the shades of blue changing with the time of day.
Stay there drive around it, take, the boat cruise you ain't be dissapoi ted. It's fantastic. A lake surrounded by hills and lots of fresh apples
We stayed in Chelan for several days, overlooking the beautiful lake and mountains in the distance. As a late Fall trip, there were no crowds and the glacier formed lake was so clear you could see the bottom at 15 feet. Our BIG surprise was the high quality of the many vineyards in the area. Their tasting rooms were staffed by some of the nicest, most informstive people we have met.
We hiked and bird watched. Very nice and peaceful. Also walked around the little town and enjoyed the shops
Lots of water activities, very clean lake, lovely Park. Several Wineries in Lake Chelan, good restaurants, charming shops in town and very nice people! Scenic, relaxing and very nice place to visit , whether it be for a quick Business trip or Family get-away!
We love relaxing on the lake for the weekend, going for a swim in the crystal clear waters. There are lots of local wineries and restaurants in the town that we have enjoyed visiting as well. We have made Lake Chelan a long weekend trip for the past few years and always have a wonderful time.
I like Lake Chelan - it is so blue and so clear. Chelan also has some great water slides. There is nothing I don't like about Chelan.
8 of us visited lake Chelan and rented a boat with water tube. It was absolute fun. We visited in June. The tall green trees surrounding the lake and depth gives it an unique green-blue shade. It was absolutely gorgeous.
When my husband and I planned our vacation, we had no idea that this was such a great wine region. We had tried the wines from the Columbia Valley and always enjoyed them. That was part of the reason that we wanted to visit this part of Washington. Although we were here in the off season, the vineyards in this area was more than enough reason to visit. We [plan on coming back during the summer.
A great place. Fun little town with some nice shops and good restaurants. There is a state park that I am sure is very busy in season. The river walk is pleasant and starts in the downtown area. Plenty of places to stay: motels, timeshare condos, and VRBOs. A casino is close by. Manson is not far. The lake is beautiful and not too cold in the summer. Parasailing and boat rentals are available. If you like wine, this is one of the best places in Washington. The whole area has numerous wineries, with about a dozen in the Chelan area.
