Very serene, easy walk through the garden. There was a wedding happening at the main area, beautiful day with an awesome view of the mountain. Wish I could donate more to help with their maintenance, etc.
Wonderul place to pay tribute to all service people of USA.Well maintained and very peaceful. Only open til October.
A sanctuary with beautiful views. It's peaceful and tranquil. There's also a small gift shop. It's a great place to visit. It's also probably a lovely place to get married.
The Cathedral of the Pines started many years ago after the son of the property's owner was killed at war. Suddenly, one day, a storm opened up the area through the pines. There are several altars and many places for reflection throughout the property. The bell tower is lovely. There's a high quality museum on the property, as well. The gift shop is small but adequate for the facility. Many weddings are held here in the summer. There's always a breeze. Unfortunately, a heavy windstorm a few years ago wiped out most of the pines. But the staff has replaced some of the trees with seedlings, put in beautiful flower gardens, and made it look so very nice. This is not a party place; it is a place of reflection and quiet with lovely mountain and lake views.
Unique setting and a great place to include in your visit to the area. Amazing views of Mount Monadnock and sweeping vistas of the NH countryside.
I had visited here many years ago but was surprised at how it had changed. I remembered a very beautiful spot with tall pines and the sound of wind blowing through he branches. The vista is now wide open with spectacular views of Mount Monadnock. Many little outdoor chapelsalong the pathways. I will have to come back when the museum is open and the gardens have developed.
Amazing wedding location I was in the bridal party and it was breath taking. The bridal assistant was extremely helpful and nice. Would definitely recommend.
Although there is a large structure, I think the primary attraction here is the gardens, and although we were a bit off season the gardens still looked nice. From the 'sanctuary' there is a nice view of a nearby mountain, so that is very nice too. Attraction's price is a donation. Poor signage so plan on using your GPS the entire way in.
We lived in southern NH for a few years and found this place to be a wonderful escape to peace and tranquility. It was established as a nondenominational place of worship for all religions and also pays homage to the service of women both in the military and in the abundance of supporting roles throughout the history of conflicts around the world. I recently returned to the area on business and had a Sunday to myself. I was drawn back to the outdoor cathedral and it's fantastic view of Mt. Monadnock as the backdrop for the altar. Worth a detour and a voluntary donation.
Everything was wonderful , there is a nice little gift shop , and the scenery is beautiful. This would be a nice place to get married.
