Riverside National Cemetery is large with many trees and ponds. It is peaceful and well kept. This is a Veterans Cemetery and it holds many military events. The Columbariums need some upkeep, but the lawn areas are well kept.
Beautiful, serene, and very respectable. Lost my father April of 2014, and he was in the Navy for 22 years, he is now interned there with my mom. The service they provided was very moving and very respectable.
A few years ago, we interred my father here. He was a WWII veteran, as well as a purple heart recipient. Only two years later, my mother joined him. Words cannot describe the peace and serenity that occurs when visiting my parents. Whenever I am there, which is often, I am so impressed by the care that is given to the grounds of this cemetery which is dedicated to our patriots and their spouses. I am overwhelmed by the graves of those who gave their lives to protect our country. This cemetery alone is a history lesson. When my mother's marker had a problem, I visited the cemetery's office. I requested a repair of the marker as it had sunk too far down into the ground causing it to be covered with mud. Within days, the problem was corrected. I was impressed and proud of the way they quickly dealt with my concern.Visiting a cemetery is not a typical outing, but if you visit the Riverside National Cemetery on Memorial or Veterans' Day, you will gain something that cannot be gotten anywhere else. You will come away with a distinct pride of country which you will never forget, and you will leave with the words, "God Bless You" to all who are there.
Well organized, very somber and honoring. Clean restrooms (always a plus). Great staff. Well groomed grounds but being revamped. That was fine. Did not like the fact that there is still more room for our fallen soldiers. Peace would be fantastic (someday).
This is one the busiest National Cemetery in the United States. You will need help to find a burial site.
The Riverside National Cemetery is a beautiful place that shows the ultimate respect to former servicemen and servicewoman and their families. Staff is great, amazing the job they perform with the number of burials per day.
We were surprised by the size of this facility. It is well organized and well run. My brother-in-law's service was held here with an outstanding presentation by the U.S. Marine Corps. There are so many services being held here that it is run on a strict time schedule. So don't be late.
We stopped by to visit and pay our respects to those who gave their all for us and those they served next to.
The moment you go through The Gates, you feel the Presence of Peace. It's a Big place and I like how it's away from the Big Cities. Worth the trip out there.
What a beautiful place. Came here for Veterans Day to honor all those who have died for our freedom. The memorial here is just beautiful. If you are in town just take 30 minutes and stop by this wonderful place. So peaceful.
