This place is amazing! Small, intimate, personable, with a wide range of musical talent. We were in town by boat for Memorial Day weekend and caught the charming Rock Hall shuttle from the marina to downtown for dinner and a little music (it's close enough to walk, also, which we did after the show). We caught Karen Somerville's eclectic performance and were mesmerized all evening. The music was great, and the atmosphere of this place just amplifies the pleasure. A well stocked bar tended by board members, home made brownies, hot coffee and water, and musicians mulling around during intermission and after the show for conversation. It's all simply perfect, and worth the long trip to Rock Hall by land or by sea.
This non profit organization gets amazingly good talent. The space is funky but the crowd always includes supportive people living in the area.
atmosphere to enjoy music. It's like being in your bestfriend's basement! Choose your favorite seat - whether straight chair, wicker arm chair or sofa. Beverages available by the entrance. A great place to meet with friends and enjoy the program
The best. A funky old fashioned concert venue with great performers from all over the world and amazingly affordable prices for tickets. Not fancy, but brings the audience together for all the right reasons. Great variety in acts!
After a great dinner at Osprey Point Restaurant, we enjoyed a very pleasant evening at the Mainstay. Washington, DC vocalist Lena Seikaly and her band performed a tribute to the music of Billie Holiday during two 45 minutes sets. Every seat in the venue was taken and the evening outstanding.
Amazing to have a this caliber of music in a small town. The Mainstay is a local treasure where you can hear great music - jazz, blues, folk, classical- about twice a month. Many name performers and groups play here when they are doing other concerts in the DC, Baltimore or Philly area. Ticket prices are modest, and the venue is up close and personal, which is why a lot of performers and patrons love it. Not many places you can hear live music only feet away from the artists, who often talk about their music or instruments. If you are in the area, be sure to check the website or local paper to see what's playing.
Mainstay offers a superior jazz experience in an intimate venue. We have attended 4 evening concerts there in the last 4 years, and each one was terrific. If you are in Rock Hall on the weekend, be sure to check if there is a Mainstay concert that night.
If you can catch a local artist it is a nice little venue. My only complaint is the chairs, they need to invest in some. Left at intermission, just could not sit any longer
Great music all day at the oyster festival. Very lay back and entertaining. Wish my friends could have been there.
If you're looking for great jazz, you'll find it at the Mainstay in Rock Hall....right on the main drag!
