awesome course! Had a nice round with my 15 year old golf enthusiast. fantastic locale reflecting midcoast maine!
I struggled to come up with a heading but after writing it.. the word was annoying.. The overall course was better than I expected but the experience was disappointing. It was cart path only when we played and that really hurt the experience asplaying with my wife who is a 100 plus player, it was a effort to get around. The greens were a too firm and then soft at times (despite the course being too wet for carts?). i watched my playing partner from 200 yards of the tough par three 3rd hit a beautiful shot that covered the pin and landed 20 ft short and then went over the green and went rolling down the cart path. No reward from a perfect shot. Championship 4th tee is 10 ft from the 3rd green and that part of the course is just too crowded (no separation of holes) and we yelled fore several times and waited for players to get off our fairways on 2 and 4 and 6th holes. My playing partner was frustrated in putting on the 6th hole because the green on the 3rd is so close and the people there were talking loudly and yes you could hear it on the 6th green which is that close. (is it a double green?) . Is that the courses fault or the players? Annoyed that tee settings on par threes, were inconsistent.. tee on par 3 5th was actually 145 yards, card said 165 yards. You have to park 30 or 40 yards from 6th green.. oops wrong club back we go again. Then par three 7th, the championship tee was 190 yards and then all other of the other white and other tees were in 5 yard space at 130 yards (60 yard gap). So constantly going back and forth to bag all day to get the right club. Overall conditioning of the course was excellent though and the back nine which does not get as much focus was quite good. Stayed at resort was was expensive, car park was full from outside event that night and had to park along way away. So golf at $125 was not cheap... Once was enough for me at Samoset
What a beautiful course. We play lots of different courses in the UK and Europe and I can definitely say this one is right up there in my view. The holes were challenging, the views were amazing, the greens and fairways well kept and well designed. Well worth a visit if you're in the area.
Although I had not made a tee time the worked realy hard to fit me in on their busiest day of the year Well done guys.
Very good food and service. Views from every seat. The bar area had very good food too!I highly recommend it.
The resort and views were beautiful. The staff was friendly and courteous. The golf course is well maintained. The only grip would be the price tag. The room prices were steep.
We ate outside and watch the golfers as we ate our delicious buffet brunch. We felt like this was a extravagant mean, but it was a great value. This is the perfect restaurant to enjoy fine food and wonderful views.
The golf course is beautiful and tough, but well worth it. Best to play in the late morning, make sure you are NOT a beginner.
Gorgeous grounds, friendly staff, first class meals. An oasis on the Bay. Their Brunch was so spectacular (worthy of Manhattan) that we made reservations for dinner the following evening. Our waitress was so sweet, she packed up our leftovers which included a fairly expensive bottle of wine and included 2 wine glasses with it. That's Class!
The 18 hole golf course is a gem.Beautiful views all along.Wild life as well, tortoise, deer, even a fox!The staff is very nice and helping.
