Hi Allie, Thanks for your review. We're glad you enjoyed the experience and we look forward to seeing you again at The Cups soon.
Hi Ann, Thankyou for your review. We are very glad you had a relaxing time!
There are many excellent wineries on the Mornington Peninsular offering the full lunch, local wine, vineyard ambience experience. The Cups Estate is the most southerly, I think, and therefore closest to Rye, Sorrento and Portsea. We were an extended family of 6 adults out for lunch from Sorrento (about 15 minutes away) and the tapas style sharing plates on offer suited us very well. There was a wide range of seafood, meat and veg dishes available and all were tasty and nicely presented. We ate outside overlooking the vineyards and while the views are not quite as nice as in the heart of Mornington wine country (around Main Ridge and Red Hill) it is still a very pleasant experience. Prices are pretty much the same as their competitors - $50 minimum per head with a glass of wine. If the weather is good eat outside - the indoor restaurant/tasting room is like an echo chamber and can get very noisy with even a small crowd inside!
My friend recommended this place to me - great tapas - affordable. Good wine (although a bit expensive to buy the bottle). Beautiful views and great service!Highly recommend it!
We had lunch outdoors here and the food was delicious. The staff were very helpful and they sat us outside on a table even though they were booked out, they then gave us a picnic rug to sit in the shade and enjoy their wine. Great wine, service and food.
Although we did not have a booking, the staff member managed to squeeze us in but informed us that we could only eat for an hour. This made it difficult because it took half and hour for our food to be made.Unfortunately as I was driving I could not indulge in some of the wines on offer but my partner did and said they where great. The food was delicious, we had grilled tuna, calamari and potatoes to share. The tuna came out with a hard grilled outer layer with a soft interlining with the rawness in the middle. It was cooked to perfection. The calamari we also had was delicious, mans almost melted in your mouth with an aolly sauce which could of had more garlic in it to be perfected. The potatoes came in a little deep frying type basket which was cute and a nice touch. They where yum.Nice little spot with good food, nice view and great service.Good spot to spend an afternoon.Next time I won't drive.
Hi Nigel, sorry we didn't meet your expectations on this occasion. Re- The Gift Voucher, at that time we were not setup to take part payments on Gift Vouchers. We did not encounter this problem before this day but since your visit we have implemented a new system to track the value of Gift Vouchers and therefore are now capable of taking part payments. We would like to welcome you back to The Cups the next time you are on the Mornington Peninsula so that you can use your Voucher. Please email us to discuss further.
Good service and food. Sitting inside can get a tad loud. Mostly sharing plates. Scampi and prawns were fresh. Must try the pork sliders
Excellent food and wine. Tapas style food was delicious. Kids could eat and then run around outside. Wine tasting was great.
We lunched at the Cups Estate Winery with friends last weekend and found it absolutely fabulous. The Tapas menu was varied and all the dishes we tried were delicious. Coeliacs had a wide choice and could find enough variety to have every dish gluten free. We started with a wine tasting as we waited for our friends to arrive. Wines were all excellent quality and the person doing the tastings had a great knowledge of the wines. We enjoyed our day very much and will certainly be going back soon.
