A grand cathedral to meet your eyes. Luckily enough to see a Mass in the cathedral the day I visited, and it was so tranquil and solemn.
To be frank its just another Gothic Cathedral in Europe - every city we have visited has one and they do tend to become repetitive. The original city wall to the left and the clock that stopped in time are interesting as is the inside of the Cathedral but its not any more special than others and is not as excellent as some (Westminster, York Minister, etc). It sits in the old town on top of the hill (easy to find - just look for the spires) and this area worthy of a stroll as there is not a lot of tourist value in this city - even the locals we met freely admit its not a tourist city
Attended a mass at this church, surprisingly it was very crowded. The exterior is amazing, but inside....its even more mesmerizing. There is a relief of Cardinal Aloysius Stepinac behind the altar. The statues and decoration inside are very beautiful. A must-visit and must-enter place.
This Cathedral is beautiful outside and inside . Very rich artistic design and very quiet . Not like in other places of worship in this one people really come to pray and concentrate and not just to view its beauty .
Very historic building, well worth a visit, english speaking gift seller outside told us the whole history of the building!
Stumbled on an organ concert in the Cathedral. 4:45 pm on a Sunday and it was free and open to the public. Cardinal Stepinac lies in state. Interesting adjoins the Cathedral.
When in Zagreb, you have to stop into the church. You can freely walk through the church and take pictures, (including behind the alter, which is rare for most churches). A wall is covered in Old Croatian words, (above the crosses). It is a beautiful area and I spent hours taking pictures inside and outside the church.
Very beautiful cathedral worth visiting. Exterior is under repair but inside is just amazing. Vitrage's (windows) and nave are exceptional.
I have seen too many churches and cathedrals in life. This, although very famous, was not better or worse than the others.Dark inside, and no special art to be seen. I did not attend mass nor was there for the music of the organ.Gothic style and a very nice view from Skalinska street.
We don't do religious sites, so did not go inside. However, the cathedral is very impressive, even though one of the towers is currently under renovation. It is a very pretty building and is a major photo opp.
