I went to Sedona for a week by myself and started on the Cathedral Rock Trail but sadly being on my own I just couldn't manage the climb, if you're short you need help. But I was determined and a few weeks later came back with a friend. We set out at 4:30pm and it was the most amazing thing ever, we did reach parts where we thought we might have to stop but watching other people and helping each other we did it, it did take 90 minutes but we were stopping to admire the view and take photos. We are not experienced hikers or climbers and having watched a party of people coming down helping a man carry his dog down, who had slipped and broken his paw, this is not a breeze for most people, but it is doable. My advice take your time, catch your breath, admire the view but oh my when you reach the top which we did five minutes before sunset it was just one of the best things I've ever done. The way down is easier and mainly down by sliding down the rocks on your behind. We even had the pleasure of hearing a pack of coyotes howling. Do it, you won't regret it. Sedona is just the most amazing place. Oh and whilst there isn't a fee to do the Trail you do need $5 for parking.
Awe inspiring! This hike is an uphill climb, and you do need to use your hands to scramble up in a few spots. The view from the top is breath taking. Make sure you do the final scramble up on your left after you reach the end of the trail,
这是在亚利桑那州,塞多纳市进行的很棒的远足。远景和路径都非常的好。不过有一天我们被眼前总舵的小路搞混了头脑。总体来说,还是很让人开心和轻松的经历。
Beautiful trail, difficult and technical at times, but well worth it for the view and the breeze at the top. We saw climbers scaling the large rock to the left, which was amazing to watch. We thought we were daring getting to to the top!!
Find a trail near this location and go. You can climb up many of the surrounding mountains to get eye level with cathedral rock.
The Cathedral Rock Trail is definitely not for everyone! It was a very hard hike for my husband and I, who are only "beginner" hikers, but we made it! It was so worth it when we got to the top! We went nice and early so we were the only people up there and it was almost magical. The views are breathtaking and I thought the Vortex spot really did make me feel "at peace." This hike is definitely a "must do!"
Need to do some vertical climbing unless you travel the lower path. The views are spectacular, and there are always plenty of people you can ask to take your picture.
All around this place,,,just beautiful. Pictures do it no justice. Majestically beautiful! The scenery is beyond belief.
