The venue is well designed for live music. Is it a little musty? sure is. But the talent they bring in is quality, and I could see coming here regularly for a concert. We will certainly be back!
It's a great theater. Great sound. Not a bad seat in the house. They have 3 full stock bars and popcorn. Great part is, you can take your drink into the theater ! Very friendly atmosphere. Seats about 900. Great prices to see bands of old. It's in downtown St. Charles, so there is lots of place to dine before or after the show. It's an old theater with a classic look.
We have seen Christian Prog artist Neal Morse here twice and have thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Ron, the owner, is quite the character and always adds a bit of fun to the show. The seats are comfortable and acoustics first class. We really enjoy coming here and thank Ron for bringing some much good music to town.
We have been here a couple of times for concerts and wow, what a cool place to see your favorites. It's comfortable, well kept, great sound and the staff are the friendliest people you'd ever want to meet. Easy to find, easy to park, nice area, love this venue.
If you think you would like live entertainment in a intimate atmosphere then the Arcada Theatre is for you. I have seen several acts at this theatre and each time the experience was wonderful. Every seat is a good one and with only 900 seating capacity you are very close to the attraction.
Went to see the G. Love show which was great but there was a scuffle in which one of the security guards tried to get a guy out of the aisle who was dancing there...don't know if the guy resisted or made some comment to the security guy but whatever the case, the security guard proceeded to SHOVE the concert-goer down to the ground and choke-hold him. People were yelling for him to stop but he wouldn't...I thought it was going to go too far until another security guard managed to get the other guard off of the guy. NOT a good scene. That guard needs to be fired! If you go to Arcada theatre, follow the rules or you might get decked by their security people!
Have attended many concerts here. Have purchased seats in the very back (by the tech people), in the third row, on the end, and in the middle - all of them great seats. Because the theater is relatively small, the performers tend to "talk" to you. Through this "talk" you learn a lot of stories about their lives, their music, and their other projects. Some of our favorite bands from the 70's had stories that really surprised us. ("I didn't know they wrote THAT song!")
In the early 70's, my parents directed community theater in the great venue. Years later (2011), I wandered around inside. It is now a music venue but still has the historic features that made it so unique. I met the friendly manager who seems to put a lot of thought and effort into the venue itself and the bands he books.
St. Charles, IL has a big time winner with this small music venue with loads of character. They bring in popular well known artists & bands, etc. And wide variety of genres - rock, blues, country etc etc .Plus hardly a bad seat in the venue & reasonable pricing for shows. The downtown and surrounding area also has a great variety of restaurants & bars for before/after stops.
The Arcada theatre is a great part of St. Charles history that produces great music talent. If you are in the area be sure to check this venue out!
