We didn't visit anything of the university, but decided to go up the towers instead. There are rather a lot of steps, but the views from the top of the towers are really good and you are higher here than you are in the cathedral tower. It's really good being able to see over the top of the university and there's also the chance to look into the chapel too as you go up. There are some excellent carvings that you can only see from the towers. It wasn't busy when we visited, and I'm not sure how busy it gets compared to the cathedral. It is worth going to see, but I'm not sure how interesting the trip around the university would actually be. I'm glad we chose to visit it as the views were arguably better than those from the cathedral.
The views of Salamanca from the spires is really spectacular
They've recently opened Scala Coeli (Stairway to Heaven) and it is just that, an opportunity to climb up the two towers of the Clerecía and have a great view of the town
Clerecia is one of the oldest churches in Salamanca. The tours are very interesting and informative. I am not sure whether they are given in English, but the guide who led us in Spanish was very well informed.
The architecture and carvings are amazing. I haven't been to the top altough I'm sure its terrific (I also recommend the top of the new cathedral)I have been to the guided tour inside the building and I really recommend it, since it's not too long (45min), beautiful stairs and painted ceilings and really cool price
We went to this place on a Tuesday between 1000-1200hrs when there is a free entry and guide up to the top of the spires - a lot of steps so be warned ! Great views from top though
Esta igreja já foi a Catedral de Salamanca. Foi construída no século XVII em estilo Barroco e possui uma fascinante fachada e um belíssimo interior.
Like with the old and new cathedral, you get free access every Tuesday from 10 to 12.The view from the top is outstanding putting the Salamanca experience in a different perspective.
