Be sure to pay the entrance fee and see the inside of this spectacular site. Once you pay you can see both the New and Old Cathedrals, complete with audio guide. The contrast is fascinating and beauty abounds. If the guide is too much you can listen to a bit, then switch to the next narrative. If you're 65 or over, ask for the slight discount for seniors.
I have never seen such an impressive gothic and baroque structure...I felt like in a dream, almost made me tear up! Recommended!!! The cathedral impressed me more from the outside. Beautiful place.
The old cathedral is adjacent to the "new" one. It is interesting to see the two together. You walk down steps to get to the old one from the new one (which is still very old, but about 500 years younger than the old one).
An interesting building with plenty of locations to visit within the Cathedral Building. Also displays of ancient paintings, statues etc. Allow about 45 minutes for the visit.
Both cathedrals are worth a visit, especially since they're connected. Our guide was excellent and pointed out many interesting features...including cracks in the wall caused by the lisbon earthquake.
Wonderful - probably best to see the new cathedral first, as the old cathedral is so much more interesting
This is a very beautiful and interesting church inside the new one.Much harmony and much history connected
Fascinating from outside, interesting inside.Deligtful apse with magnificent tablets. Double shot for photo taking since New Cathedral is located next to it.
I really enjoyed getting the chance to visit this cathedral. Both the inside and outside of the building have very impressive features, and one can wander inside for quite some time to see and register many particular details. It's totally worth a visit when you come to the city.
Very well organized audio tour with many highlights; just enough detail without being overwhelming; this is a combo ticket with the New Cathedral
