Nagsasa cove is very relaxing and peaceful. It's one of the best places I've visited if you want camping site. The water is clear and clean. We also went to water falls just 30 min trekking from the beach. You can have the view of the mountain while sitting in the shore.
I spent 4 days in Nagsasa. Longer than the usual overnight stays. I decided to do this so I can explore more of the area. If you can, try to bring everything that you need. This will greatly lessen your expenses when in the cove. Prices at the sari sari store were at least doubled. I totally understand this because products are shipped via an outrigger boat once a day. The trip was totally worth it. Go there folks but keep the place clean and respect the locals. Hopefully this place maintains its serenity.
Entrance fee per person is 100 for overnight and 50 for day tour.Cottages are rented at 100 each. There are clean toilet and shower with free flowing fresh water. There are retail stores selling canned goods, booze, noodles, coffee, softdrinks, chips, candies... A kilo of rice cost Php70, to have it cooked additional fee is Php50.Get on a bus bound to Iba, Zambales and ask the bus conductor to drop you off at San Antonio, Zambales Municipal Hall.Option 1:Call Mang Abel at 0919-9483187 for boat trasfer.Get fresh produce from the public market behind the municipal hall. Ask around for a small grocery store to get chips and booze, beside it there should be a meat shop that sells marinated meat. Ride a tricycle (Php30) to go to Pundakit. Meet Mang Abel and negotiate about the transfer and/or island hopping. Ask him for drinking water and ice box.Option 2:Ask the tricycle (Php30) to bring you to Canoe Beach Resort (0939-374073 or 697-0537). Arrange boat transfer and/or island hopping with them. Order meal from their restaurant and have it packed for the trip. Stay overnight in Nagsasa or choose to stay in one of their rooms.
This site is farther than anawangin cove. About an hour ride from Pundakit hence few people goes here. But that the best part because this is where you can find true solace.Bring your friends, families and loved ones. Free yourself from troubles and blues.
My husband and I tried a different way to welcome the New Year and it was unforgettable. Discounted Package Tour for 3days/2nights stay at the cove: PhP 3000/coupleIt includes 50L of purified water, pans and pots, a knife and an icebox
crystal clear waters . the place had only another group when we visited do we had the whole beach to ourselves . sand is grayish but still nice . no structures aside from huts and no telecommunication signal here . we ate fish just caught and sold to us by a local fisherman; it was fantastic . overnight camping is allowed . best to visit during feb to jun because otherwise waves can be too strong for boats to come and go
So nice going to a place that will take you away from all the stress in the city. The place got no signal for cps, no luxurious hotel and only got a basic restroom but the trip has been one of my favorites. It was just nature, me and the best company.
A must go! The scenery is beautiful, the water is clear and the toilets + "bucket showers" are okay as well. There was no garbage at all, must be depending on the people who are staying there and the amount of people staying there too. The locals (or the Aetas) are very nice and helpful. The "mom" in the Beach Place was accommodating even if she didn't have to! She helped us setup there bonfire and the grill area - making sure we got everything we needed. Elaine, the person to contact to was helpful as well and she responds fast! We didn't do any trekking or whatsoever as we were just there to relax. Of course you need to bring all your camping gears especially flashlights/lamp since there's no electricity here :-)
We left Eastwood at 3am, Monday morning. Our van pilot, Elmer we met him through OLX. The best driver I would say (may malasakit sa rentee). Why? He even joined us in the island which he said he doesn't usually do. He lent us his portable stove, ice chest, tent. He's a pro. Prepared sya because he has his back pack, own food stuff, fishing rod, a very powerful flashlight, hunting knife etc.The ride took us about 3 hours via NLEX/SCTEX. We bought our food stuff at San Antonio Public Market, bought ice & butane gas at a nearby 7-11 store (pricey if you have to buy there). That day, there's a detour going to Pundaquit passing through a shallow river. We hired Kuya Vic's big boat for 4500 with 3 boatmen. We bought additional ice & he lent us pots, pans, sandok, knife & 2 blue water container for our drinking water (he eventually discounted those). We rented 3 tents good for 4 persons at 250 each. The relaxing boat ride to Nagsasa Cove is about an hour. Unlike other blogs about scary boat ride to Nagsasa, ours was nice because of the very fine weather, no waves at all. We had side trip to Camara Island & Capones Island before we head to Nagsasa Cove. The overnight stay in the cove was perfect! No cellphone signal so I got to keep my team's full time having this great experience. Talagang nasolo ko sila. No fussy team building activities whatsoever. Just plain staycation away from the stressful call center life. No pollutions, no noisy environment except from the soothing sea breeze, waves that makes me sleepy & a lot of chirping birds on the tree tops. Pine trees gave us shade from the scorching summer heat. I cooked chicken adobo with Manel which was a "blockbuster". Nasimot maybe because we're too hungry. Hahaha! It's really hard to cook rice for a big group! 2pm na kami nakapaglunch! I marinated liempo BBQ for dinner & grilled it before the sun went down. We ate our hearty dinner around 6pm, rested, chat with each other by the shoreline. Maybe we're really tired that's why we slept at 10pm. We missed to set the bonfire. We owned the place the whole time we're there. No one else except us after a couple left the place around 4pm.We woke up the next day at around 530am ( except for Angge & Che). We had tuyo, salted eggs with tomatoes, hotdogs for our breakfast. Afterwards, we headed to the beach. Had a lot of "photo shoot" near the rock formations and the area where the river & the sea meets. As of this writing, I'm suffering from painful sunburn because I missed to put on sunblock lotion. But I love the tan lines. Even my freckles on my cheeks were highlighted too. Our lunch was also filling. Before I forget, we had Zambales ripe mangoes for our dessert. Sweet! We prepared to leave Nagsasa. The boat we rented was professional that they kept the promise to fetch us at exactly 2pm. We thanked Tatay Ador (not sure if it's really his name --- his name was engraved in the pots & pans we also borrowed) as we climbed the big boat. Like what Kuya Vic promised, we had another side trip to Anawangin which I found less beautiful than Nagsasa because it's commercialized and it was crowded. If not because of the flies everywhere because we were near the comfort rooms & the dumping area for empty glass & PET bottles, I would have rated Nagsasa Cove a high 5.
