Not just for tourists, this garden seems well-used by locals. On a sloping site with far-reaching views, there are plenty of seats where visitors can relax and enjoy the variety of plants and landscaping.
These gardens overlook the west of Funchal town. There are spectacular flower beds, soothing fountains and the liklihood of seeing a family of lizards frolicking in the sunshine.
Clean and open with good views to the ocean. The flower beds are colorful and the plants are well cared for.
A lovely park you can relax in and look around all the extravagant plants that grow in Madeira and you don't see everyday.
Right next to the presidential palace gardens, it's a great place to take a break and watch the world go by on your way to or from Central Funchal to the west side of the town. There is a nice lake with a fountain and some nice plants around a central grassy area.
We visit this garden every year without fail, taking our pack lunch with us, there are plenty of seats dotted around the park to sit and enjoy the lake and fountains, not to forget the people watching!
enjoyed sitting here every day taking in the views and seeing locals enjoy time to rest gives a great chance to catch your breath on the way up to hotels
Found it quite by accident while strolling around the old town. Nice fountains with swans. Spent an hour looking at the ocean and eating a picnic. Will probably visit again.
Through gentle sloping gardens with excellent port and sea views and gardens beautifully kept and colourful. Park cafe sells excellent food and coffee at bcompetitive prices and good quality. Lake with attractive wild life and very good kids play area next to cafe, not busy in January and plenty of seats to take in the amazing views over Funchal, port and sea.
Called here twice to wander through the park and rest our weary legs. Nice little cafe by the small lake. Lovely views to the sea, harbour and marina. Great for admiring the cruise liners when they are in port.
