My daughter & I took a nice summer swim here yesterday. The water was so clear & pretty. But even on the 4th of July in Arkansas the water was cold. You quickly get use to it. Simply a beautiful place.
We visited Blanchard Springs caverns while camping at Buffalo Point campground on the Buffalo River. These are fantastic caverns, well worth a visit`. They were about one hour travel from our campground.
Nice little place to swim for free. The facilities were clean and the water was clear, clean and cool Loved it!
Spring is beautiful, and trail area made for pleasant strolls. Well maintained. Nice camping grounds and streams. Quiet without a lot of traffic and visitors when we went. Will definitely return with a picnic lunch next time.
When visiting the caverns, be sure to visit the springs. Beautiful and pristine. Take time to walk some of the trails and simply enjoy the beauty of the forest. Perfect for the whole family.
Outstanding time for just a couple or with the whole family. All the caves and the springs make for a great weekend or a day trip.
This is a very beautiful area, with a nice clear stream and plenty of camping and hiking. Blanchard Springs Caverns are located here even though we were not able to tour them on my last visit. Sylamore Creek is so clean and so natural. A great swimming hole when the weather is warm enough. The dogwood and redbud trees were beautiful during our visit in March.
Susan and I chose to drive the scenic byway from Blanchard Springs to Fifty-six and through the mountains after we had visited the cave. There was still snow on the ground here and there from the previous week's storm, and no foliage on the hardwood trees. But even with the disadvantage of being in winter, it was still a very pleasant hour. What might it be in terms of beautiful vistas just a few weeks later!
Beautiful as always. Great photo opportunity. Walkway is stroller accessible. Beware of snakes when off walkway and near water.
Enjoy a walk in the woods, a dip in cool waters, a shower, a campground--your cave tour ticket allows you day use of the recreation area too, just put it on your dashboard. Pretty as a picture in fall, but I'm betting it's nice just about any time of year.
