Saturdays are free and as you enter look for the "Educateca" - and ask for the educational options for children - my kids chose little book with "pieces" of each image from the permanent collection. The kids had the clue and they had to find the image in the permanent collection. This image hunt kept my 5 year old boy in the museum for 1.5 hours ( a miracle)... Then we walked next door to Jardim da Luz and listened to music. There is also some public art there and decent play ground. When we wandered off the main path, one gentleman was very interested in my phone, so we moved back into the crowd.
Very clean, modern and full of unique treasures......must visit at least once when you are in Sao Paulo......
Nice building, lots of artworks. Unfortunately the majority of the ppl just wanted to see the Ron Mueck exhibition.
I think it is worth going to Pinacoteca if you like art. You will find remarkable pieces of art there. There many works by Rodin and many other fantastic artists. Don't miss this place!!!
This museum is not to be missed if you have more than a couple of days in São Paulo. Sometimes the exhibts are great and if you are a first time visitor, you will be able to appreciate their permanent collection, focusef on Brazilian art. Nearby the Greek restaurant Acropoles is the best option to indulge youtself.
An old building with an rich history that was neglected for many years/governors brought back to light !A really good architecture for displays, bathed in light and very airy in this tropical megalopolis just an Oasis .... ALWAYS a good couple of exhibitions from national and international artistats.Very much worth visiting and have a stroll at the centenary park just beside it ;))))

Great permanent collection and wonderful Mueck exhibit when we visited. Loved that senior citizens didn't have to wait in the long lines to enter.
Nicely renewed old building. The permanent collection sums some intersting old Brazilian paintings. Always organizes great temporary shows.Lovely park in the back.
