This is the site of the Museo del Trampolin, Hotel Nicolas De Ovando, Fortaleza Ozama, and Panteon Nacional. All are on this street and highly recommended.
walk this street, avoid the tram. There are many attractions such as Colon palace, pantheon, museum of royal houses. The Sunday antique fair has interesting vendors, but you should be able to speak Spanish to bargain for best prices.
Right on the Colonial Zone one of the first streets of the new world close to museums restaurants ,the cathedral and the Alcazar ..I recommend you get a guided tour.
This road is a part of the history. Very close to the Cathedral, las Calle de las Damas is now on renovation, so is a little bit hard to enjoy the beauty of this road build specially for women.
The building with all the remains of past leaders and important figures was interesting, but a bit boring. Many of the attractions on this street were closed when we were there.
named after the women of the era, this is a great street steep in historical value. as you stroll down this street you will soon see that this street also has many of the great sights of Santa Domingo
This street is really a step in the past. The houses are definitely old Spanish style houses. There are quaint museums, shops, and restaurants.
Las Damas is full of history being discovered by the Spanish. I enjoyed walking along the street and I felt it was like I travelled back in time. I felt safe walking on the street, enjoyed it tremendously.
Las Damas is full of history having the Spanish fortress from the time the city was founded more than 500 years ago, palaces now transformed into hotels or museums, a walk through it brings you back to the time when it used to be the fashionable street of the city where ladies used to go for a walk late in the afternoon just a few years after the founding of the city back in 1496. Still parks are allowed there, which I hope soon will be history and the street can be anjoyed more thoroughly without their presence.
This street is a very good option for having a good time. Also El Conde Street is a nice option with restaurants and shops.
