I wouldn't give it any stars if I could, the poor chickens are petrified, they are so scared! They are huddled around each other in the middle of the pen, while people yell at them and taunt them, while having music blaring directly at them!! That's why they use the bathroom!! It's inhumane, and very uncomfortable to watch. Some people may call it tradition, but that doesn't make it right! Here's a better idea, the bar is located right on the beach, plays great music, why don't they do something else like karaoke. This is an embarrassment not only to Belize but to the human race. This needs to stop now.
Except for the chicken drop I know nothing about this place. I can say the chicken drop was a lot of fun. The bartenders were busy but the service was never slow. A local by the name of Coconut Joe did a tree climbing/acrobat/pole dance exhibition during a break in the drop that was entertaining. My suggestion would be to get there early to buy your drop tickets. They start selling at 6:00 pm Belize time, so about 6:15 at the earliest.
If you're going for the Chicken Drop its fun but two rounds is good enough. Don't by tickets for more than 3 rounds. It gets really boring after a while, but it is a good time and something you should do for an hour or so and go grab dinner.
we went there for the chicken drop a local gambling game very fun, get to meet new people, laugh, yell at chickens and maybe even win some money. We just had drinks there but it was very fun.
The bar is fine and the service is actually very good, but the Chicken Drop is the highlight of the place. One would never guess how much fun it is to bet on what number on a board a chicken will crap on. A must attend event!!!
What a fun evening! We went to the chicken drop, sat on the beach, and had a couple of Beliken beers. The chicken drop is just a fun, fun night. The emcee is amusing, and the crowd is lively and friendly.
We took the water taxi from our stay on Caye Caulker to explore the city. We ended up here for drinks while a soccer game was on. We had already ad lunch so we only ordered beers but a lady next to us ordered the taquitos and they smelled wonderful, she highly recommended, so they must have bee as good as they smelled! We would definitely return for the chicken drop if we could get back to Coulter, but unfortunately the taxi doesn't run that late!
We got to Belize and were hearing about the chicken drop. It's kind of kitschy was actually a lot of fun and very funny. Definitely something fun to do in San Pedro on a Thursday night. Our bartender's name was Josh. Incredibly friendly and so nice. I had just tripped over a steel bar and we went into this bar to get a drink and see what the chicken drop was all about. We sat down and my foot really hurt. Josh gave me a bag of ice no problem and set us up nicely with some drinks. He was really nice and gave us some things to do on the island or places to go. If you go to this bar ask for Josh, you will be in good hands!
2nd time in San Pedro, but this was my 1st chicken drop. Good drinks at the bar. I thought the prices were good compared to Jersey prices. Had a really good time on a Thursday night. The DJ was good keeping the music going and MCing the chicken drops. Had a good time blowing on the chickens booty too lol. I'll be back next year for another round.
I will keep it short and sweet, the drinks are weak and overpriced, we were offered drugs multiple times, as well as witnessing drug use in the bathroom. Personally, I would steer clear of Wahoo's on Thursday nights. The Chicken Drop might be a San Pedro tradition but were not impressed.
