We left in the morning from Red Mountain Resort and biked along some pleasant safe roads and through some lovely adobe homes in a small housing development. It took about an hour and was a gradual uphill going there but not a problem on a low gear bike ( great bikes). Had such a good time looking around at the art and shops. Had a yummy lemonade and bought a ring to ship to our daughter. Great service. Great ride back and then on to ride further into Snow Canyon St Pk.
Kayenta is actually a residential area so hard to like or dislike per se. Coyote Gulch Art area is the only real venue there. All houses are of the Santa Fe style, flat roofs, stucco. We have friends that live there so visit frequently.
A few miles outside of St George lies this desert high end housing area ($9m) homesInside is a unique high end art gallery (s) very creative located in stand alone buildingsShould visit and also have lunch
Stopped by here a couple times just drive around, look at the houses, eat and visit the shops. Beautiful homes. Hopefully some day we get in good with one resident there so we can actually check out the interior of one or more homes!!!! Food was really good at the Xatava restaurant (different review).. We have purchased a couple unique items there and love the atmosphere. Laid back, beautiful scenery, and unique shopping.
There were nice galleries to stroll through and a cafe that had some good treats. A factory that produces wind sculptures that are prevalent in the area was there but production is top secret, so there was no visiting that. It was a pleasant spot to spend a bit of time. It was annoyingly difficult to find it as it was low profile in a residential area.
The beauty surrounding this artsy town breathtaking. The red hills and natural landscaping has a calming effect for me.
Took a bike from Red Mountain Resort and cycled into the Kayenta Art Village. Amazing! Wandered the galleries and had a great cup of coffee. People were SO friendly. High point of my trip.
Me and my wife go there every couple months and stroll through the artist workshops and galleries. usually grab a bite to eat at xetava or if they're having an event, there's usually all kinds of vendors with food. the surrounding area is absolutely gorgeous. me and my guy friends will usually go on some pretty intense hikes up in the canyons. Believe it or not, we wait till it rains really hard and there are flood warnings. probably not a smart idea, but that's when you get to see two and three thousand foot waterfalls. mind-blowing, a must see!
Amazing surroundings with rules for the homeowners to maintain this and I just loved it. Wish I could move here! Coyote Gulch Art Village is nestled among the homes and is a must-visit!
When you go to Kayenta, you experience another type of living in St. George Utah. The Artist are One Of A Kind and you will not be disappointed at the Atmosphere in the Natural Desert Setting either.
