Bowring Park is a very old park with many memories for me and anyone who grew up in St. John's as they are celebrating there 100th. Anniversary this year. Its a place for everyone who visit to enjoy all year long so many things to see and do throughout the year such as sightseeing, nature ,hiking, picnicking, feeding ducks, walking, events throughout the year and so much more. Excellent for families and visitors to our Provience
Step off the busy street into a peaceful refreshing change from urban life. Nature at its undisturbed best awaits you in the abundance of waterways, water falls and quaint bridges. Trails are quiet and pleasing scents of trees and shrubs to enhance t walking at your own pace. Lots of open spaces for recreation and a central refreshment "bungalow" for your enjoyment.
We attended a Wedding at this stunning Park in Aug. It was held at the Bungalow. We were so impressed with the condition of the park. There is something to see around every corner. The Bungalow was the perfect setting for an intimate gathering.
A lovely and large park close to the city. It has many paths, a river, pool, waterpark, playground, fields and many picnic areas. It is a good place for a stroll, to play catch and feed the ducks.
This park is a great place to spend a Sunday afternoon, have a family picnic or play with the kids. There are a couple of beautiful ponds with ducks, swans and fountains, lots of beautiful flowers and plenty of ace to roam. One of my favorite places to go.
Bowring Park attracts locals 12 months of the year; people love walking the park and its trails during all of the seasons, especially when the weather is warm. There's a good hiking trail off the main park route- ask for directions to find it. For families, summer time is when the outdoor pool opens. Another perennial favourite. The park has been undergoing a refurbishment, and is also celebrating its centennial in 2014.
This park is well- used by locals & a lovely place to wander around. There is a marvelous Peter Pan statue in bronze - apparently identical to the Hyde Park statue. A magnificent statue of a caribou can be seen - reproduced on our Canadian quarters...
A lifelong favorite place to take a stroll through the park, feed the ducks, and just enjoy the flowers, trees, and of course the Peter Pan statue.
I always go here with my boyfriend, they have lots of trails and even a tennis court. One thing we always do is feed the ducks :)The only downfall is the limited parking, I would advise to take the local transit or walk (if you are close enough)Bowring park has lots to do for both young and old !
Beautiful Park, new-ish location for the annual newfoundland Folk Festival. A really great lineup of mostly Celtic musicians from Newfoundland, Quebec and other parts of Canada. Great festival every August--worth the trip. The walk to the festival through the park is very nice--along a rushing river. Parking for the festival was surprisingly easy given the size of the festival.
