Make sure you are prepared to be amazed! They have built the stairway over the falls, so you see the rushing waters under your feet. The natural beauty surrounding each level or section of falls, is stunning! A photographers dream!
You should allow a full day to see both the upper and lower lakes. Around every corner there are more stunning waterfalls
Loved this place, definitely go here once you enter Plitvice. It's a picture worth a thousand words, and very roantic to see with your special one.
There is really not a lot more to say. Plitvice is amazing. Go see for yourself. The hike is amazing and easy enough for anyone to do. Just go to the bathroom before starting, and take a bottle of water and enough space on your memory card.
Just thought I'd review all of these...they're all amazing...however long you're in Croatia for...make time for Plitvice!
We walked on trails and boardwalks connecting 7 of the parks 16 lakes, and also took a boat across the upper lake. The awe factor of this UNESCO Heritage Site is an 11 on a scale of 1 to 10, with many beautiful sights, whether the cascading waterfalls, colorful foliage, impressive rock formations, or clear water ranging in color from turquoise to deep blue and green. We covered a 3.5-mile loop of trails and boardwalks along the upper lake and then another 3.5-mile loop after lunch following our boat ride across to another section of lakes. Our guide set a comfortable pace that allowed my parents, ages 77 and 82, to complete both loops comfortably. While we were only at Plitvice for the day, one could easily spend upward of a week exploring the trails and wonders of this special park. We saw people of all ages, including a large group of school-age children on a field trip. There are lots of steps and some steep trails, so a walking stick is advisable for those who are not sure of foot or who could use some aid over a long walk.
The cascades (of all heights and lengths) are simply amazing! The brilliant colour of the water is unforgettable. Definetely worth seeing!
View up close and far away is breathtaking. The paths provided are very close to the nature. You feel like being a part of it.
The whole national park is filled with nature wonders, the cascades is just the best of the lakes. Picturesque, calming, heavenly.
If you ever consider to go to Plitvice - don't hesitate! Go! It might be one of the most beautiful places by nature in Europe!
