This palace is another great historical place you should visit. When I was there the Cherry trees were in full bloom & the honey bees were all over them. That was another extra bonus to see that made it even better.
MRT: Exit 4 of Hyehwa Station, walk for 10mins.Glad that we book the city walking tour at visitseoul.net for a free tour guide!
This palace is much smaller, but the scenery is beautiful when you visit during Autumn. There are many photogenic spot you can find and to take gorgeous pictures.
The most well preserved Korean palace and it offers the historic appreciation of Korea and Korean culture.Guided tours are available and it is a beautiful palace.
I have to say, the Guards were all actors. It was OK to watch but you have not missed anything if you missed it.
This place is huge but we lack to enjoy it... Maybe because the huge grades were death because the temperature and the buildings were very simple compared to other palaces. I'm sure that in other season the huge parked are great places for a picnic.
Always love the chance to get back to the history of Korea and its' people and rulers. The change of pace is also a welcome relief from the over hurried reality of life in modern Korean society south of the 38th Parallel. Go. Enjoy!
you can literally walk into the place though the back-gate of Changduk-palace. But still need to buy the ticket.
I visited this Palace (along with the neighbouring Changdeokgung Palace) at the end of November 2014 whilst on a work related trip to Korea. In my opinion this Palace is not as beautiful or a grand as it's neighbour but it does have more of a tranquil feel to it as you walk it's tree lined paths. Entrance to Changgyeonggung Palace is very cheap at KWon 1,000 (about GB£0.60) and hence great value! You can also walk north of the Changgyeonggung Palace in the lovely 'Changdook Park' to the 'Changgyeonggung Greenhouse (Daeonsil)'. This is a large Victorian Glasshouse, built in 1909 next to an ornamental lake, that is home to some amazing plants... Well worth a visit.
