We recently attended the Symphony's "Symphony with a Splash" concert, which was a pretty refreshing experience. Doors open at 5, catered dinner from Beacon Hill Catering available, as well as wine, beer and cocktails, reasonably priced. A nice social hour with a duo providing some fun background music (bluegrass, jazz, etc.) and the concert--only an hour or so long--started at 8. The concert selections were not what you'd typically hear at a 'formal' symphony concert--the (great) conductor explained the pieces and why they were influential in their times, and we enjoyed all of them. We'll definitely do this again. And the Fox Theater (Well, properly known as the Martin Woldson Theater) is an art deco gem that no one should miss.
Went to a concert at the Arbor Crest winery! Sat in the grass with snacks and wine. The music was fantastic and the atmosphere was too!
This symphony is a diamond in the rough (always world class), as is the chorale and the Fox Theater! This concert was phenomenal to celebrate 2014 & welcome 2015...I highly recommend the tradition for your 2016 New Year's Eve and First Night Spokane!
Wonderful artists performing as good as it gets anywhere one might travel. The Spokane Symphony can be rated with the very best!
Saw this at the Fox. first time seeing spokane Symphony, really enjoyed it. Would like to go again. Definitely worth doing here in spokane.
A wonderful night of classical music. This symphony has worked hard to earn a top-notch rank throughout the west coast and is truly a concert you don't want to miss.
I didnt expect the high cost of everything connected with this. It is beautifull and well maintained, but not a visit I will repeat.
I hope the musicians will be treated like they deserve..they are incredible. The music is masterful and the guest artists are the best! Playing at the Fox venue is spectacular and the community really supports those musicians. We just wish they could all have BIG salaries!
The Spokane Nutcracker performance was enjoyable and in a lovely theatre. Three generations loved every second. A place to visit, and every seat gave a wonderful view of the performance.
The Spokane Symphony is among the best I've ever heard! I think the musicianship is unsurpassed and the music director as well as the associate director are wonderful! I've attended The San Francisco Symphony and The Louisville Symphony many times and I feel the Spokane Symphony is on equal par.
