If you don't want to be bothered by hords of tourists taking selfies then Monteliusvagen is the place to go for sure - trust me it is one of the best views from Sodermalm and if you are lucky the sun will come out and play so your pictures will be amazing :)
It has a nice view of the rest of the city, just expect a bit of a walk up the hill and back down. It's not that easy to find but if you just keep wandering eventually you run into it
Good views of the city from a point not so well known. Perfect for a photography buff like myself and had a lot of fun taking panoramic views of the city.
If you end up to Södermalm, visit this part of the town where you can have one of the most beautiful views of Stockholm! Place is pretty quiet and it seems tourists don't usually go there. Apart from the view it might happen to find some Stockholmers walking with their dog. Choose a sunny day, sunset time, to walk there. When i was there it was windy, a wee bit foggy and rainy
Stockholm is my city of birth, and I love walking all over the city to enjoy its scenery. The breathtaking view from this little promenade high on the cliffs of Södermalm is one of the best. To imagine that this used to be where really poor people lived... Now it is a paradise for those of us who can't afford living there!
If you can predict there will be a beautiful sunset in Stockholm find your way to Monteliusvägen - it's worth it! Absolutely gorgeous view over the city hall, Old Town and all the rest. Lots of people doing the same so it's fun social event as well.
We didn't expect to have a view like this in Stockholm. There is not much different in elevation in Stockholm, except the areas near Monteliusvagen. It's an easy walk and we think it's worth the visit in any season. We visited the place in the winter, but even with bad light conditions (snow, no sunshine) it was beautiful! It's only a 15 minute walk from the old town.
Get your muscles work and pull yourself up to the hill from Slussen. After 10 minutes you will be rewarded with a great view från Monteliusvagen! Let your spirit to soak in sunset warmth and take a bottle of wine if you visit during the white-half of the year.
This lovely walk above the harbor in Sodermalm area of Stockholm gives you a wonderful view over to other parts of Stockholm. The day we went the weather was wonderful and our friend pointed out various buildings and church spires in other parts of Stockholm. There are areas to sit and enjoy the view. And it is very handicap accessible. After the walk we ventured further into "Söder" to have coffee and a bite to eat and window shop. This whole area of Stockholm is younger and geared to the many apartment dwellers, so there are many food shops, bakeries, clothing shops, etc. Lots of restaurants for full course dining, too.
