I have a wonderful view of these falls from my living room, being a Squamite and all, and I am still awestruck on a daily basis. Up close, Shannon Falls is even more amazing. I believe it is the 5th largest waterfall in N. America(forgive me if I'm wrong). And, it's just 5 minutes south of Squamish, which was number 32 on the New York Times list of " The 52 Best Places in the World to Visit in 2015". Definitely worth stopping to view, it's breathtaking. Enjoy!!!!
A short uphill walk from the parking lot reveals a magnificent water fall, Shannon falls, well worth a visit
Shannon falls is a beautiful waterfall right off of the sea to sky highway. It is very convenient from Vancouver, which is nice but makes it very popular. It was a bit crowded when we were there. The base of the waterfall is not far from the parking area is an easy walk. It is definitely worth visiting if you are staying in the Vancouver area, even if it is a bit crowded on the weekends.
On our way to Whistler, we like to make a short detour to Shannon Falls. Parking is free, make sure you lock the car doors. No entrance fee, only fresh air, serene beauty and nature's symphony that money can’t buy. The great thing is you can see this falls close up and you can climb up to the top, or have a picnic there.Come and see for yourself, make sure to bring camera.Happy travelling!
Easy little walk upto a platform in order to pose for photos. Washroom facilities are outhouses. Just had a procedure done on my knee, and should not have been hiking, but found it very easy to do just for the photo op.
Spectacular view great nature walk interesting different through all seasons. Winter is a spectacular sight with the frozen water fall.Very serene place to walk through
The falls are so awesome to see. Lots of walking to and beautiful to picnic. Parking is not that great.
Shannon Falls is a great waterfall just a few kilometres south of Squamish. The trail to the base of the falls is not far, the track loops around so that you come full circle. There is plenty of parking.
A great place to stop and take a break if you are driving from Vancouver to Whistler - any time of the year... it's free with plenty of parking and just a minute off of the road. The falls themselves are only a short hike from the parking lot - less than a half mile round trip with a slight incline - very impressive in height and because of the over abundance of moisture in the region (as in rain...) the falls are usually very 'full' rather than fluctuating throughout the year... great place for photographs if you are so inclined as the creek from falls is also very photogenic... in the summer there is also a small shop that serves ice cream and other snack items...
I thought the walk was plain and the falls were nothing special. If your looking for that little walk to stretch your legs then it's a good place to do so.
