Buck Creek State Park is one of the biggest parks in Ohio I have been to. It has hiking, swimming beach, boating, kayaking, jet skiing, disc golf, and in the winter snowmobile trails. There are cottages you can stay in that are furnished. I recommend 18 and 19 because they over look the lake and it is a beautiful view.
Horrible experience at the beach!!! There wasn't a clean place to sit because of the Goose droppings all over; in the grass, sidewalk, sand, even floating in the water. The kids were trying to build a sand castle and had to keep fishing the floating bird turds out of their moat with a shovel. Disgusting and unsanitary, we quickly left and will never return.
You can enjoy a nice ride through the park and at the marina area. This time of year, all the trees are in full display and make you want to sit under a tree and take in all the sights. It you plan your trip towards evening, you'll see all sorts of deer enjoying their evening. Have never stayed in the cabins and don't go to beach area. You;ll also see lots of people walking for exercise. Lots of people riding bikes through the camping area. And you always see lots of boats on the water, people tubing and water skiing. Lots of sights.
The Park is well worth a visit. The dam is impressive and the easy walking trails allow you to see a wonderful variety of flowers.
nice boating area away from beach environment which was nice quite a bit of drive to get into the beach surroundings and lots of seagull like birds flying around watch your food
Very well kept state park. Nice camp ground & marina. Picnic table up over the marina is a great place for a late picnic & to watch the sun set. Also a great place to fly a kite or ride a bike.
If you like to boat, bike, fish, camp, stay in a cabin, enjoy the beach, hike, or picnic, Buck Creek State Park has a lot to offer. Probably the only State Park close enough to a city where pizza can be ordered and delivered to your cabin door. Beautiful in the Spring and Fall, enjoyable and cool during the hot summer months. A nice place for family outings and simply getting away.
We stayed in our RV and camped at this state park. The campsite are well spaced out. Although we camped in Feb., we were very pleased with the parks layout and bathrooms. The bathroom was very clean and plenty of hot water for showers. The laudery mat was open and clean as well. There was a fire ring at each capsite. I would highly recomend camping here.
Buck Creek is a great place for family fun and a lot of water activities. You can have a nice picnic by the lake then walk the beach or fish or the more adventurous can water ski or go tubing. There are great trails if you're a hiker and beautiful scenery in every direction if you take pictures. Stop by Buck Creek, it's worth the visit.
This is a wonderful state park. There are two bedroom cabins, tent sites, along with RV area. There is also a marina and a beach. The children will enjoy the rangers' station which has many hands-on displays. So much land, so many animals such as deer, rabbits, and birds plus lots of fishing!
