It's only a short walk from the parking to the falls and they are just so beautiful. The falls are on the beautiful McKenzie River. You must see these falls!
A beautiful hike that shows two awesome Mackenzie waterfalls! You start at Sahalie, which is right off of Hwy 126 near Sisters. After viewing the cool falls from the established viewpoint, you can begin the 1.5 mile hike down to Koosah. You see beautiful water that so clear and cold that it's ice blue and flows fast.Koosah Falls are just as beautiful and amazing as Sahalie. This hike is definitely worth the trip!
Sahalie Falls was lovely! And just what I needed as I started a long drive to NM. I arrived early morning and felt excited as I pulled into park. I strolled along the path surrounded by tall, lush trees and could feel the spray of the falls as I got closer. While I have visted taller and larger falls, I was impressed with the simple beauty of this place. Perfect to take a lunch and enjoy a few hours. Located on Hwy 126 (not in Sisters)
I am planning a trip to Sisters Oregon and saw a review for the Sahalie and Koosah Falls. I looked it up on a map and the map notes that it is near Redmond OR between Sisters OR. But actually it is near a town called McKenzie Bridge. This change my itinerary.BTW I had to rate this to post it so since it looked like such a cool place I rated it a 5.
Well worth the stop to see both falls or the hike on the trail connecting the two falls. Easy access off highway and well marked. Available parking and restrooms at each site. Expect a series of stairs to get to the viewing areas. Both viewing areas give you superb views of the falls. Highly recommend a stop at these two falls. Much more water than Proxy Falls.
My wife is 7 months pregnant and she was able to walk to both waterfalls without any troubles. It was easy walk with well defined trails and great views of waterfalls!
This is a very short walk to the falls and worth every step. Absolutely gorgeous. the hike is appropriate for all ages and doesn't take long.
Make sure you walk to both falls, it's an easy hike that youngsters can do. Lovely views! God's majesty at it's finest. In the heat of July this was a perfect stop to cool down by the mist of the falls.
This is a great trail to walk- it's easy, beautiful, and a great view/payoff. Everything was so lush and green - it was beautiful! Walk down to Koosah Falls, the trail is very scenic and peaceful. I would recommend this trail to everyone!
These falls are great to see and easy to get to. You can either park at one and hike the loop to see both (3 miles for the loop?) or park at one and short hike to it, then park at the other and short hike to it. Walking along the river between these two falls is beautiful, as the river cascades down from one to the other and you are hiking right by the river nearly the whole way. I would rate this trail as moderate. The change in elevation is pretty gradual but the trail has lots of tree roots and rocks so it is more than just a walk on a level trail.,
