John dunnwoody gave us an excellent twolus hour tour all good make sure you give plenty of time for this garden as there is plenty to see
Well kept gardens and awesome huge lillipads. There is a restaurant but we didn't eat there. We probably spent about 15 minutes wandering around and there wasn't much else to do with our time. Entry is free though and it is nice to walk around if the weather is good.
Free! I especially liked the hidden gems so eloquently hidden around every corner. I really loved the rock wall water feature.I reccomend this to anyone who would like to spend time in Stellenbosch for under budget
This place is a little oasis in the town. Do make time to visit, it's free and really well done. The bonsai are fantastic.
My wife and I spent a very enjoyable hour strolling round this amazing garden in the centre of Stellenbosch. On a hot, sunny day the opportunity to walk along shaded paths between large trees and shrubs or to sit in the shade close to a bubbling fountain was very relaxing.Highlights were the amazing lily pads and the display of bonsai trees.
The Botanical Garden is a paradise in the middle of town and is a perfect place to spend a quiet hour strolling around. The cafe is an added delight for lunch or for coffee and cake. Don't miss it!
As a local I have threatened to visit the gardens for years and eventually did so in December. OMW what a beautiful place in the middle of town!! The gardens are very well kept and in the middle is a perfect spot for breakfast or lunch. Will definitely be back in autumn to see how the plants have changed.
A must even if you are not interested in plants.A cool peaceful haven in the centre of town which is undergoing a great upgrade.
Looking for a secret hideaway in the middle of the bustling student town of Stellenbosch?Beautiful, well maintained mix of landscaping, art and shops, this is one of my favorite (and free) places to rest and restore.
The Katjiepiering (the Afrikaans word for "gardenia") restaurant serves light meals and is situated in the middle of the stunning botanical gardens under the shade of the trees, in a quiet corner of Stellenbosch. The meals are light and refreshing, the service good, and the prices very reasonable. Higly recommended for a light meal or coffee/tea.
