Thinking of relocating to the Estate and is always a great experience! We were there at the beginning of the year and the only downside was that the clubhouse and club was closed on New Years Day.
Many thanks for your positive review and the compliments on the course , staff and service. we really appreciate the review and look forward to welcoming you again when next in SA. Kind regards, Dave
De Zalze is no doubt the one you should play if golfing near Stellenbosch. The facilities are more than fine. Service of the staff is excellent - great thanks to the guys taking care of the services on driving range! Course itself is varied - no hole was a copy from the previous. Greens in very good condition.
Very nice Golf course, enjoyed playing there. The food we had for lunch was good, excellent location - will go back
Had no problem with the golf course, it was in excellent condition and we thoroughly enjoyed playing it. We did, however, book the Dine Devine Package, which entitled my husband and I to a round of golf and a three course meal at Keine Zalze Lodge restaurant. When we booked we were told that our table was booked for 6.30pm and when we arrived at the restaurant we were told they didn't start serving until 7pm. Not a problem, we sat outside and had a drink overlooking the golf course. Things started to go downhill after that. The choices on the "blackboard" which was the menu were extremely limited. There wasn't enough staff to cope with the amount of diners they had as there was a wedding reception being held somewhere else on the property and that took priority. There was one waitress, and one trainee that she had to supervise, looking after about 40 covers. As you can imagine she was extremely harassed and also embarrassed at having to apologise for the delay in taking the orders and delivering the food. Once our order for starters and the main course had been placed we were asked to also order our dessert. We waited for about half a hour for our starter to arrive. By this time the restaurant was filling up and more pressure was put on the waitress trying to take orders, serve wine and deliver food (eventually) to the tables. Our main course arrived about 30 minutes after our starter had been cleared away. By this time we realised that if we waited for our dessert it would be another hour so we decided not to bother. As we were leaving a "Manager" appeared and my husband mentioned to him that we were disappointed and he was totally ambivalent He suggested we wrote down our comments and this I am now doing. Will play the golf course again but will not buy the play and dine package.
A friendly welcome, a great course and brilliant service. The recent changes to the Proshop and bar have enhanced what was a good experience and it just works. Enjoy.
The golf club is a major complex with too many houses to be unique. Not the favrorite part of my time in SA.
This is ranked in the top 100 golf courses in the world for a reason. It is just stunning. Some of the best fairways and greens we saw in South Africa
We made reservations months ahead. When we arrived the rental clubs were not available. At tee time we were asked to postpone the time. When we finally were on the tee box we were asked to step off because we had to wait for another half hour.As we booked in Le Terroir afterwards we had to ask our money back because there was not enough time anymore. The caddy master gave our money back without any excuse and under reduction of the balls and tees that I had bought. What a shame for the golf sport.Never go there. There are golf courses enough in the Cape
