We elected to drive out and had no trouble getting tubes and enjoying the fun on our own schedule. I noted the website states "Ski Helmets are not provided but recommended". We rode the blue and green with our grand kids and found them to be fun and relatively gentle. The oldest grandchild elected to go down the black and I followed.I was released from the hospital 24 hours later. Moral of the story: WEAR A HELMET.
PHENOMENAL time had by our group! We went there Feb.11,2015 and had a BLAST!!! We are all 45 to 50 and there was 7 of us and I can't say enough about the fun time we had! We started with the hour and a half tubing which was simply a blast! It was so fun being a kid again and FLYING down their hills! They know how to have fun there! Then we moved on to the lovely sleigh ride and we had our own little blue heeler that rode with us which made us really home sick, lol! When we saw the magnificent stars on that wonderful clear night and heard the glorious sleigh bells it was just perfect. They do it right there and then when we pulled up to the beautiful cabin where our dinner was being prepared it was just gorgeous! They really know how to put on a spread there! Our group was very skeptical that the food would be any good since they had to cook so much of it but boy were we all wrong! The salmon was absolutely wonderful and the steaks were dang good too! All in all, we had an awesome time at their little piece of heaven and we've all agreed that when we meet back in Steamboat again next year that we will definitely be heading back to Saddleback Ranch! See you guys next year!
Nick was our guide and Jared was our driver! Both men made our trip memorable and fun! The scenery was beautiful, the atmosphere was fun and light! Great family atmosphere! Thanks!
We did the two hour tubing outing with transportation from the downtown area included. They have three tubing runs--easy, intermediate (the fastest run), and difficult (includes a jump), all served from a single lift. People had a lot of fun going down the intermediate run in various formations, including a chain which got to be 20+ tubes long at one point! The adults were having just as much if not more fun than the kids! Worthwhile outing for the non-skier in Steamboat!
Loved every activity we did at the Ranch....came back 3 days in a row! Horseback riding, tubing, sleigh ride and snow mobiles. People are great, prices are great and experience was perfect.
I went here with my wife, bro and a bunch of friends (10 total). I will admit I had low expectations prior to arrival. I mean come on... Snow tubing? Plus the weather had been warm with little recent snowfall. Wow, was I ever wrong! Little did I know that weather makes for perfect icy tubing that was ridiculously fast. At one point 4 of us went down locked together and reach 41 mph. My pucker factor was definitely up there. Awesome day, totally worth the money and I would go again in a heart beat. It is also kid friendly and I would allow my kids to go (while wearing a ski helmet). I recommend this place without reservation.
We have done several other sleigh ride dinners and tubing excursions on our visits to Colorado. This was the most fun. The people at Saddleback Ranch was super friendly and fun for kids and adults alike. The tubing is unlike anything we have experienced before. There are no run (lanes) to go down. Once your get off of the tow rope you have a choice of what side of the mountain you want to go down. If you get too cold there's a warm cabin/lodge for you to stay in and watch the tubing. They even have refreshments.Best of all was the food!! It was DELICIOUS! We all shared bites of our different meals and everything was above what I would have expected from a tourist/excursion dinner. When we got on the bus to go to Saddleback and my husband found out it was 40 minutes away he asked me "Really, is there no place closer we could go tubing?". Well, after about 30 minutes of tubing with our boys my husband told me, "we are definitely coming back here next time we come to Steamboat."
This was a highlight of our trip. We were a group of three couples and took the 1pm snowmobiling tour. They picked us up from our hotel and drove to this amazing ranch, got us ready, and took us out on a guided 2 hour tour. The guide did an amazing job - very chill and totally let us enjoy ourselves. I would definitely return here!FYI - Snowmobiling is very similar to driving ATVs. It's not tough - all of our wives drove some :)
This was our 2nd time tubing at Yee Haw Adventures at Saddleback ranch. Awesome fun both times. 1st our kids were 3 and 5 and this trip they were 11 and 13: works perfectly for both age ranges! A lift takes you up and you tube back down. Nice fast/long run. Lodge at bottom has hotdogs and hot cocoa.
We went on the Hee Haw experience. Which included tubing, sleigh ride and then a dinner at the ranch. What a great way to end the day. You can ski up to 3pm, then be entertained for the next six hours. The tubing is a blast, with their own private tubing hill. The sleigh ride is a nice break from tubing before dinner. The dinner is hosted by the family of the ranch. They are so personable and pleasant, you feel like a part of the family. Then the fun begins, watching everyone try to rope a calf, metal (not real), is a blast, then you finish off with some dancing. A great time for all.
