If you head downtown, head to the bridge and grab a pic on this classic Vermont bridge. Just a fun little place to stop by.
Easy parking to walk to view the bridge. The area around the bridge is easy to walk, but do need to watch the traffic crossing the bridge when walking on the bridge. Make sure to read the story.
We were on a "leaf peeping" and covered bridge tour of Vermont. It was great fun doing the scavenger hunt to find all the bridges. It was a beautiful autumn drive to this bridge and well worth the trip. Local legend says that a young lady, Emily, lost her life here - some claim the bridge is haunted. The stories vary depending on which local you talk to. Did she fall off the bridge, hang herself, or ???? You will have fun deciding which story to believe.
We drove to Emily's bridge and parked to take some pics. It's a great covered bridge that overlooks a small river. While we were there, we asked a gentleman to take our picture. He was wearing waders. We asked what he was up to and he said he was panning for Gold. How awesome is that? We figured we would come back and bring the kids. They would definitely get a kick out of that!! Especially if they end up finding some.
easy to find Not far from center of StoweCute little bridge - you can easily get good photos from a number of angles
We stayed just a couple of minutes from ths bridge, it has a babbling brook below it, I read stories of it beng haunted but for our visit it was just a lovely piece of history
Easy to find, not far from Rt 100. Definitely worth the detour. Bridge is in a beautiful spot to look at Gold Brook. If you drive over the bridge you will be on a scenic, dirt road that will bring you out just above the school and "downtown" Stowe. The road has several antique homes on it that are beautiful. A great part of Stowe Hollow area to see without going deep into the country.
I have lived around here for years, and we stop there once in a whi8le, It's a nice old covered bridge, nice clear brook under it, barn board and old pegged timbers. Legend has it that it's haunted by a young girl named Emily. I'll let you be the judge of that,
This is an old single lane bridge. Well worth the short drive to see it and take some pictures. Get directions to the bridge from the tourist information center.
Having visited a number of covered bridges in Vermont and New Hampshire although not the biggest this one offers a bit more scenery. With the river and the Autumn colours in the background it is a good photo opportunity
