the quiet and peace. the rooms were fully equipped with full kitchen and pull out sofa. Also full bed and balcony which led out to a private patio to the golf green. the service was ok too.
I have been going to Pinehurst for 24-years on a golf outing (now a total of 12 golfers). We have played Hyland numerous times - but were saddened by it's condition a couple of years ago and further saddened when it wasn't even available for last year's trip. Now however - Hyland is back. It was like an old friend - we got re-acquainted very quickly. The course is in great shape and the personnel were top shelf. Greens were very nice (even though I missed many of them). I would strongly recommend Hyland Club. It is a very playable course. My group will definitely play it next year - our Silver Anniversary golf outing.
After being closed for a while, Hyland Hills Golf Club, now known as Hyland Golf Club, has re-opened under new ownership. Hyland is in the lower tier of courses in the Pinehurst area. It is fairly inexpensive, but a good golfing value. The course had really gone to pot a couple of years ago, right before it closed. The fairways were more sand than grass, and the greens weren't much better. But they have put in bermuda greens, and the fairways are 90% grass!! The greens need a little more TLC, but they were receptive and rolled nicely. We played on a $23 internet special rate, and were very pleased at the value received. The new owner is very nice and the entire staff was very accomodating! The current weekend rate of $65+ seems a bit pricey. Need to put it in a little better shape to be worth that. Overall, we were pleased. Grab an internet rate and have fun.
This was the first time I played there and the course was in very good shape. A couple of hard holes with some water hazards. But all in all a very good course. Nice club house, good driving range. They have a discount card you can purchase to use on your next visit. I will diffently be returning.
greens rolled true and course was not too difficult. fairways were a little rough but overseeded so nice to see the green.
Beautiful gem of a golf course in the Pinehurst area...it is challenging and pretty at the same time...staff is outstanding.. So friendly and eager to help..definitely put this on your list of courses to play when visiting the Sandhills of North Carolina....
Have played just about every course in the Sandhills and many in the Myrtle Beach area and Hyland ranks with the best. Overall conditions are superb with the best greens around. Beautiful views from several locations as the course is on one of the highest points in Moore County. Friendly staff will make you feel welcomed and want to come back. I highly recommend Hyland when planning your golf getaway.
Played Hyland Club on Thursday, April 26, 2012. Eight of us played both morning and afternoon. Grass in fairways pretty much nonexistent - greens not in very good shape either. Our group has played this course at least 15 times over the years. One year it's great - next year not so much. Is there something wrong with watering the course a little more often? We will go back because we love the place and are a forgiving group.
The changes of elevation on this course are much more radical here than most of the other sandhills courses. The design features some rather unusually routed holes with terrific vistas and some of the largest most difficult greens around. It is usually in good shape and is not too pricey to play.
For the price not bad,has the potential to be a great course .Staff was awesome, and food was good. With some addition to course would rate with the rest in the Pinehurst area.
