This is a place your shot course, I have played it a few times over the years and it has always been a fun but challenging time, it has a up north feel that saves you a $100 in gas money to get up north. The reason I am writing this review is not for the golf but for the quality of food common out of the kitchen, we stopped in for dinner yesterday thinking we would grab a quick sandwich or burger remembering what was on the menu last spring, what a surprise we were in for, The food is 5 star, I had the duck and scallops that were the best I have ever had, we eat out 3 to 4 nights a week and I can honestly say this is the best food coming out of any kitchen in South Lyon or Brighton and the view out the dining room window is one of the best in miles, if you are tired of the same old GFS food that you have been eating around town take a trip to Mouse Ridge for a surprise
It's like golfing up north but close to home. Lots of trees and many challenges. The course is very well maintained and employees make an effort to ensure you're having a good time on the course. Stopping for a bite after the round is very relaxing.
I played here on May 15th. A friend of mine lives in South Lyon and we were looking for a nice course to play. I was stunned at how nice this place was. From the entrance to the course, to the driving range, the clubhouse, and the beautiful course itself. This has to be one of the top courses in southeast Michigan without a doubt. Just like another person mentioned it has the up north feel to it once you turn onto the road that leads to the course. The clubhouse is beautiful and it has a full bar and dining area. There are great views from the deck that overlooks the tenth tee. We played the white tees, myself being a long hitter it just left me with a lot of wedge shots into the green. If I were with other long hitters I would have played the tips which are around 7100 yards. If you are looking for a wonderful course in southeast Michigan, Moose Ridge is very high on my list, and once you play there I think you will say the same yourself.
Went in to have lunch with the family and the food and service was excellent, a little pricey but the wait staff was great. The view is spectacular.
Always a great time at Moose Ridge. Beautiful, scenic ground and a great atmosphere in the clubhouse. Bartender could have been a little friendlier though.
The past two times I came in to eat I felt the food did not taste as good as it did at the time of my last review, the cuts of steak were gamey, tuff to cut, tuff to chew and not seasoned. The fries were dripping with grease and the presentation was so so, I am revising my last review to advise you not to go here if you want fine dining, if you want bar food it will work for you, if you want better, it is no longer served at Moose Ridge, I asked if they had the same cook, the answer was no, if the past cook reads this let me know where you are working now, we will come visit
My husband and I have played golf at this course a few times. The course definitely has that northern Michigan feel and it is a challenging course. The course is beautiful and well maintained. Recently, May 23, 2014, five of us ate dinner at the Moose Grill and the food is great. Two of us had a bison burger which was very good and filling. I also had a cup of the bean and ham sour which was tasty and hearty. Two people had fish and chips which were tasty and another person had a whitefish burger which was also very good. This restaurant is surrounded by windows on three sides and the view is of the golf course a many trees - quite scenic. The service is good. There is a full service bar at this restaurant - two in our party had coke to drink and three of us had a glass of house merlot. This golf course and restaurant are few miles from the Silver Lake Road (exit 55) of U.S. 23 - the golf course is beautiful and the dinners are delicious.
This is a very nice local course in a beautiful setting. Be careful of the insects in summer, bring bug spray.
Very good menu with lots of variety, especially the fish & chips. Steak dinners are tender and reasonably priced. The restaurant has a pleasant view of the course and surrounding woods.
The course is roped off at a lot of the holes so you have to walk to the fairway on many holes. One has to take a few clubs to fairway because distance from car path cannot be judged properly. Tough on senior citizen. Price is also steep.
