Haven't been here for 30 years. Glad to see it the day after a melting snow, with icicles clinging everywhere. A charming site.
We completed this as a loop with the Kayenta and Emerald Pools trails. This was by fare the easiest part of the hike with all level terrain and no drop offs. Don't let the fact that it is easy discourage you, the views are no less spectacular.
This trail could even be accessed by someone in a wheel chair, though the person pushing them would certainly get a workout. But it's well worth it to be able to see the hanging gardens and the waterfall.
Always visit here with my family that come from out of town! love this place so much!!!! If you are adventurous and love to hike this is your place to be!! Great atmosphere and energy! There is wildlife along the hike!
This was one of our first hikes in Zion. Ended up at Zion Lodge where we had lunch. Saw several mule deer along the 1 mile walk. I would think this would be good for elderly folks or families with small children. Also a nice "warm-up" hike before taking on more strenuous ones. The only downside was that sections of this trail parallel the road, so it probably could be a little noisy although there was little auto traffic the day we hiked it.
Gorgeous easy hike with restrooms and fresh spring water available. Shuttle stop/pick up is convenient.
Worth a visit, but try to go early. A little more crowded hiking trail than we are used to, as it is very popular. I would recommend hiking trails near Kolob for a quieter hike.
The Grotto Trail is a super easy trail in Zion. Anyone can walk the trail it has clear paved paths, you won't be scrambling or jumping over anything. Great for kids and adults alike.
This is a simple hike that you can bring the kids too. The trail is very well maintained and you ll. even be able to see some mule deer grazing close by.
If this trail was not surrounded by numerous other awe inspiring trails, I would have probably given it more stars, but relatively to some of the other hikes that Zion has to offer this is average at the best.If you want some experience the true Zion, try Angelo's Landing or even better the train to the Observation point, but be prepared for some steep switch backs.
