Large park with play area and café serving hot and cold meals and snacks. Very cosy and friendly, even do Sunday Lunch for a very reasonable cost. Only problem is that if you have a dog you must stay outside, however there is no shelter for doggie people to enjoy the facilities. A conservatory area would be good for us. There is a bandstand and a lake with lots of ducks and geese, swans and other wild fowl. The park always seems to have ground staff around.
The cafe is an absolute delight and the park is so well kept. What a gem. Good play area and the pond is so picturesque. The flower dispays are something to be witnessed and a real tribute to the hard work of the council workers.
It is a lovely park for a stroll to walk round the lovely lake to feed the ducks. Has a good play area and an exellent cafe with home made food
We found this park via the website Days out with the kids. It was approx 20 min from our home. It's such a hidden gem. This is a beautiful park with plenty of green scenery. It had a fantastic play park. We had 3 kids aged 4,9 and 10 and there was enough for them to do in the park. We then went to the toilets (which were very clean) and the cafe to buy duck Feed. We walked down to the lake that's behind the shop. Again, another immaculate area. The ducks and swans were very friendly. We walked all the way around the lake and that brought us out at the bandstand. Again, another lovely area to sit and watch the kids play. There are plenty of grassed areas for the kids to kick a ball about and play. We were there for 2 hours today in cold and wintry conditions We will return in the spring and summer for a picnic and a full day out. It's a hidden gem for families looking for a free day out
Great renovation to return park to be enjoyed by young and old. Well done to Friends of Ropner Park for work in café.
This is a superb park in the middle of Stockton. Beautifully restored to its original Victorian splendour but with a great modern play park and a good cafe with home made food at reasonable prices.
Love this Park especially since it was updated, great place to walk the dogs. Been going here since I was a kid, love when the ducklings are about.
They have a lovely pond with plenty of bird life. We have also been in the spring hand summer and the gardens are very well maintained.
This park is just great for young and old alike. There is a beautiful lake and we have spent many an hour feeding the ducks, geese, swans and other birds that live on the water. You can buy the proper bird food from the cafe. There is a band stand with regular performances from a brass band, a children's play park, tennis courts, large green fields to run around in and beautiful flowers and topiary to look at and enjoy.
It's a nice park to walk around even in winter the pond looks nice , it's a great place for the kids
