Fairly wheelchair friendly which meant I could take Mum for a stroll among the various trees and plants. Several degrees cooler and quieter than the rest of town.
I wondered around the gardens doing some geocaching! this place is beautiful! the rose garden is lovely, as is the bambo area, lots of nice places to sit in the shade and relax, take the insect reppelant tho, o and there is a maze for the kids to run around in to give you 30 seconds of peace.
We were really looking forward to seeing these botanic gardens as we are a bit of a fan. These were less botanic gardens and more open grassy area, dam in the middle, ring road and a few tress. Nice park, not a botanic garden
Beautiful gardens, nice and cool in the evening and well worth a look. Black Hawk Memorial from the 1996 accident is also there, very serene spot for a memorial.
Very quiet and nice shady so could place to chill out in the heat of the day. A stunning collection of plants, definitely worth a visit.
we were very impressed with how clean everything is but it does not make you uncomfortable the trees in bloom are stunning and make me very jealous that we do not have them in Melbourne.
Try this out, it is a botanical garden with different sites, Savanna and Rainforrest are my favorites. Have to be visited when ever in Townsville.
Very lovely range of tropical plants. There is a cafe and a short board walk through the rainforest for the less able. The Tanks are used for a brilliant art space. Worth an afternoon
Nice to relax and enjoy a book. Take a blanket and go and relax in gardens. The water feature is beautiful.
Queens Gardens in Gregory St, North Ward - had a beautiful few hours exploring this lovely spot with the help of the brochures provided, which also identified a lot of the unique tree specimens. Grab some lunch and lay around on the lawn!
