We visited in middle of February 2015 and I had some old tickets I'd bought in the uk some10 years ago after a short delay these were accepted by guest services and in we went First ride we tried was the cheetah it was awesome went on three times one after other only 10 minutes wait , just as well because when we went back later it broke down and we didn't get to ride again , also must mention the sheikra a double 90 degree drop coaster it was great others coasters were ok but the theming of the park is fantastic lots of real animals and the train ride is a must , if we'd had multiday tickets I would have gone back but hey maybe next time , perhaps the best thing I can say is my wife who hates coasters and doesn't really like theme parks wanted to return because of the zoo element, on the negative side usual 17 dollar parking rip off doesn't start your day well and traffic getting out of Tampa was awful
Family day out and we arrived about 1/2 hour after opening and stayed passed closing and still could have done more. That said, we feel like we got our money's worth. Really enjoyed the Opening Night Critters show but could have done without the Madagascar Live - the performers were great but the music/story line was not very good. Used the Skyride to get around and that helped saved excess walking. Highlight was seeing the interaction of the 2-month-old baby gorilla with her mom - priceless. Tip: caught the last trip of the Serengeti Railway - was supposed to be 6:40 pm but really went around 7 pm (which was closing time that day) and while everyone was fighting to get out of the parking lot, we enjoyed watching the giraffes at sunset!
We visited in February (coldest month in Florida). Arrive early. some of the rides were closed because of high winds. lots of walking. food a little pricey (meal plans available). the animals were great!! we saw the gorilla babies (one was 12 days old). saw the hippos swimming under water. the rides were fun..
This was second time to visit Busch Gardens, First time in July 2013, it was crowed and about 1 hour for rides waiting. This time, during slow season, no waiting time for FALCON'S FURY ( you must watch the commercial on TV : climb 300 feet high, the seat turn 90 degree before dropping, let you watch ground , then drop, scream.....)Only 10 minutes waiting for CHEETAH HUNT (I didn't play this at first time because I was feared and too much waiting time, but I did this time.without regret !)By the way, if you book ticket online, it cost $75, but on windows, it is $95 per adult.
We have been to Disney and Universal in Florida for a total travel time of 3 weeks now. As our kids are getting older we are finding ourselves drawn to Universal type rides more often. We find Disney FAR too busy, even at what they call 'low season'. Universal was busy, but hey, there is so much to do there now with the Harry Potter worlds. Busch gardens is a 'different animal' altogether. The theme of this world is nature. Dozens of different animals, clearly well taken care of in natural settings. I am impressed with this zoo as the trainers clearly care for their animals. The park is lush and the rides are spectacular. Our kids are now teens and were challenged riding some of the more advanced rides. Our favorites are Shreikra and Falcons Fury (the latter took a lot of courage to partake, but it really is a beautiful ride if you can force yourself). The ride is 350 ft high and very gently sweeps you upward, then points you face down and pushes you down in 2-3 sec. I highly recommend Busch gardens to thrill-seekers and those that want to spend a great couple of days at a beautiful theme park!!
If you are thinking that Busch Gardens is anything like a Disney theme park, you will be disappointed. Busch Gardens was great in the respect to the interaction with the animals, the safari train and amazing roller coasters. I can certainly see why this would be a draw for entire families - good for the little ones as well as the dare devils. We were lucky that they day we went was drizzly so the park was pretty quiet, less than 5 minute waits on all rides. I don't think I would have been as much of a fan of the park if I had to wait in ultra long lines. The rides were short and sweet. Parking was expensive (same as Disney) at $17 a car and the food was expensive too for what you get. If I were a FL resident and were able to come for free after 1 visit, it would be worth it. As a visitor to the area, I could take it or leave it. This was our last stop after a few days in Disney and it was really hard for Busch Gardens to beat the Disney experience.
We went to the zagora cafe and it was rude staff. They didn't want to help.they weren't friendly at all.The food was horrible, it was cold and hard and nasty. II spend to much money to not get fresh food.I will never come back to this place again. So do not go eat at Zagora cafe.
We had an emergency stop on the way ,so our day was a bit short .so only had half a day here .my partner and myself did all the water rides first so we could dry off . So the queues for the roller coasters was a bit long .being some what on the big side I was worried about the support on the FALCONS FURY but on hindsight I now regret not going on but its on my to do list for next time .its only down fall and it's not only busch gardens .is trying to read the maps .they are a bit misleadind .but overall loved it
