This museum had something for everyone in our family. The exhibits are fun, but the highlight was the tour of the dig site. A must-see if you are in the area.
Have to say the museum itself was wonderful, would recommend it to anyone, old or young. The only thing I would suggest is, make sure what you are told is what you receive. We had paid to have our Secretary Conference registration at the museum, with the understanding that we could view the museum. As the ladies arrived and started their tour, we were told each person would have to pay the museum fee. That would have been fine if we hadn't been told different when it was set up. Very disappointed with the way they handled it. Great Dinosaur Museum though.
Having been to the Natural History Museum in Washington DC many times, this place brings home the fact that so many amazing finds happened right here in Wyoming! In fact many of the dinos and fossils in DC are from here! Cool history for everyone! Recommend it for any age!
It was an excellent small museum. Very informative, very bright, very well laid out, very clean. It is a good one for all ages, our group ages were between 75 and 12 and we all enjoyed it. Nice gift shop, also.
World class museum in a small cozy town! It's a great place to spend an afternoon learning about the animals that once roamed the area
This is a great dinosaur museum. Well worth the trip! Very nice displays and very educational! A must see for dinosaur enthusiasts.
I'm not a fan of rude people and that's all I encountered at this place. I think it was overpriced and overall I didn't have a good experience here. I've been to other museums and have gotten better treatment elsewhere. Don't waste your time going here.
Not a huge museum, but our kids really enjoyed it.Next time, we want to sign the kids up for the half or full day field trip to where they dig.
We spent two hours here and I didn't even get to the dinosaurs. This is a very well done, and up to date explanation of the progression of life on earth. With fossils for all the different phases and periods of earth life it was fascinating to someone who loved her prehistoric life on earth college class. Things have improved in the knowledge 100 fold since I took that class and it was great to fill in some of the pieces. Hubby got through a lot faster than I did, and after those two hours I was pretty saturated and didn't really spend much time looking at the main exhibits of all the different forms of dinosaurs. They are quite pleased with their archaeopteryx, one of only twelve in the world and the only one in the US. It was very wonderful to be able to see it in person. This was well worth the trip to Thermopolis, let alone the entrance fee. Definitely a main attraction.
This is a really good dinosaur museum. They have a lot of fossils and information about them. It's not very kid friendly, but great for couples. They have a good gift shop and the staff is friendly. A must see when your in town.
