I was on my bike and encountered 2 wonderful dog owners that evidently thought they owned they owned the place because their dogs were unleashed - guess I need to start carrying my mace...just in case! Also - why are dogs even allowed here - take them to the million dollar dog parks they built in the Woodlands! I don't mind dogs - its the inconsiderate owners that irritate me!It would be nice if the trails were marked better - I had to look at my phone to see exactly where I was and still managed to find a trail that took me all the way back to Kuykendahl/Woodlands Parkway.
My children brought me here thinking I would enjoy this since I was visiting from Sedona AZ area. This trail was much like the beginning of the trail to Cathedrals, which I go to often. This was so spirit lifting as I always find in nature. Well kept & still color changes seen (after Thanksgiving).
well marked trails, The preserve is a great place to walk or bike. Nice to be able to walk in a natural area away from the hustle and bustle.peaceful shady and pretty
Surrounding development is apparently sending excessive water into the park during heavy rains, washing-out several areas - - particularly on the south/Fleming Park side. It is possible to carry a bike across the downed trees and deep trenches, but it is not easy. I felt sorry for a family trying to navigate. I would suggest families stay on the flat Flintridge loop (Main Trail), which also goes by the lake.
Love the location; in a suburban master planned community, but you feel out in nature. Love the hike to the pond. Love that you can explore off trail if you so desire.Cons: trail markers can be confusing at certain junctures, bikes, and dogs can disrupt your walk or jog.
Even though living in The Woodlands means being surrounded by nature and beauty, its still a busy place. When you enter into the preserves walking trails you feel like you've traveled deep into secluded woods. It's beautiful and peaceful. There are different routes. A wonderful place to walk whether for exercise or relaxation.
The Preserve is a great walk through the woods. It is an easy walk, jog or bike on a dirt trail. A quick nature fix if you live in the area.
Still enjoying the trails, both biking and running. Inconsiderate dog walkers are becoming an issue. For the safety of every person and animal, dogs must be on leashes. It is a shame that some people are potentially ruining this park for others. Hopefully signs will be posted soon reminding everyone about both this courtesy and law.
I have been lost in these woods and don't recommend at this time because bridges are out and paths are not taken care of at this time. I know they are working on it. Also, the park visitors don't follow the rules about keeping dogs on a leash!!!
