Nothing to dislike, the wildlife was brilliant, The park is bigger than wales so you do a fair amount of driving & looking which we loved
To the south-west of Tsavo East National Park, and on the opposite side of the Trans-Africa Highway, is the Tsavo West National Park. the park is one of the greatest wildlife spectacles that kenya has to offer, compared...even .. with the sfamous Masai Mara, the wildlife density at Lake Jipe ( south on the Tanzania border) is astounding. .... great herds of plains games, immense flocks of birdlife, massive pods of hippos and vast herds of elephants that can often be seen swimming between the reed islands that lie just offshore from the Kenyan shore.... Chyulu Gate campsite, ..in the north of the park, makes an ideal first stop;.. and from there, a single day’s driving will take you to the Kenya Wildlife Service bandas on Lake Jipe. ..
This Reserve is well maintained. Has all the game. You have great game drives and the best part... Three days game viewing. You are not far from the coast for a trip relaxing beach holiday before heading home.
So many big herds of elephant as well as huge variety of birds. I loved that you had to look for animals rather than cars surrounding animals!
An amazing christmas in Tsavo organised by Julius of JT Safaris. Julius organised everything from our pick up in Mombasa, our stay at the Voyager hotel and our 3 day safari. A wonderful trip, safe, fascinating and my wife did not want to come home. Everyone should make this trip.
if you love to see elephants in the wild then this is the place to come, my husband was here in 1970 and all he has talked about for over 40 years was tsavo and its elephants,we even named our house tsavo house. plenty of other animals here as well and some great scenery.
Everyone should see the wildlife, i hope to take my family next time, we saw all the animals in their own enviroment
I think we were blessed to have gotten the guide we did. A veteran who has been covering the park for nearly 40 years. Knew everything and most importantly where the animals were. We saw elephants (must've been hundreds) a bunch of smaller wart-hog looking things, giraffes, lions and a couple of cheetahs up really close. We booked the jeep / 4WD option
Spectacular scenery and wildlife. If you enjoy birdwatching - amazing numbers and variety. So many wonderful large herds of elephants. Road surface can sometimes be a bit rough. Would advise visit as different from other game areas in Kenya.
A great park to visit. Make sure you check out our favorite hotel by the Voi gate: Manyatta Camp (Voi Wildlife Lodge). Great place to stay! If in Voi, they have a very original market twice a week. People at Manyatta will know which day. Vooi is a small city, but still unspoiled by tourism. Also, make sure you get a good and experienced safari guide. That is sometimes the difference between seeing few or many animals.
