This tavern is an institution in these parts and can get very busy especially on weekends but the food is excellent, the outlook up the Tweed River with Mt Warning in the background is sensational and all with a laid back holiday atmosphere.
We visited for lunch on Valentines day to meet a group of friends and one couple had a small poodle. Signs were up everywhere that no dogs we allowed to be tied up anywhere on hotel premises. I think they could be a little more tolerant but lunch was good even though it took a long time to come out (very busy). Also fresh local produce stand was a bonus
Excellant views over the Tweed River good playing area for the kiddies. Raffles and food is good quality and a good range of choice in meals.
Loved the atmosphere and old Australiana character and furniture.Lovely area out the back for kids and large groups. Very reasonable prices.
Lovely hotel outside of Murwillumbah. Lovely atmosphere and surrounds. Have eaten there as well and food and choice is good.
We came to know this place, when we took a Tweed Endeavous Rainforest Cruise 3and half hour ride inclusive of high tea and lunch. While the boater prepared the lunch for us we have an hout stop-over at this cute historical Tavern established in 1887 along the riverside drive at Tumbulgum on the bank of Tweed River (NSW).The owner of this Tavern were warm and friendlyknowing we are from oversea we did not get any drinks in there yet we used the toilet in the Tavern and seated in their place for a rest while waiting to board on the boat again to continued our cruise journey.I gave him ten point full mark for his hospitality spirit he had shown.
This beautiful old Tavern has been tastefully refurbished & is off the main hwy a short distance, nestled amongst shady trees & right on the side of the Tweed river which has a long history in itself.Very popular on weekends & a great spot for boating,water-skiing,fishing.A great country feel & is only 10min`s drive from Murwillumbah & 20 min`s drive from NSW/QLD border & gold coast.Have a lovely lunch in the beer-garden,plenty of space for children to play.
Went here for lunch with friends. Good was good as usual and excellent friendly service. The bar area has a nice fire which is good for the cold weather and a friendly local scene.
It's a Pub. It's a Pub. It's a Pub. It's an Australian Pub. Just right for a lunch with young children to play on the playground within the grounds. Food very average, expensive, no good value at all. Friendly staff. Average low standards.
This is a lovely little pub with stunning river views. Meals are reasonably priced, service was quick and friendly
