The signs are only in russian, but some posters dont need explaining. When we were there, a young lady gave us a tour in fine english, which made it a whole lot easier to understand. It is a very grim place, but these things have to be remembered.

Um ótimo lugar para se visitar em Tomsk é o Museu da NKVD. Ele está instalado em uma antiga prisão que reproduz bem todo o clima pesado de uma cadeia política dos tempos da URSS. Existem várias fotos, vídeos e objetos de pessoas que ficaram presas, foram torturadas e assassinadas pelo regime. Aos que têm o estômago mais fraco, não é tão recomendado, mas eu gostei bastante. Eu recomendo.

This is a very small museum in the basement of a former prison. You get to be in a cell, which is the only thing you can understand if you don't speak Russian. However, it is interesting to see the photos and other memorabilia from Soviet times. It's inexpensive and, as I said before, small, so give it a go.

Чтобы понять наше прошлое, что пережили наши родители и деды, обязательно посетите этот музей. Полистайте списки-разнорядку на уничтожение врагов народа, посмотрите на лица на фото тех, кого расстреляли, увидите, что значит геноцид - государством уничтожены лучшие люди целого поколения. Словом, это НАША история.

Музей передает атмосферу того времени. Можно полежать на "нарах", рассмотреть предметы того времени, фотографии. Ужасно читать поставления об аресте, расстреле.. смотреть глаза людей на старых фотографиях.

В ней столько загублено замечательных людей. Густа́в Густа́вович Шпет. Николай Клюев. Мне очень хотелось бы узнать о каждом из них подробнее, но это другая тема.

Побывала в Музее в рамках акции " Ночь в музее"! Ну очень острые ощущения! Особенно в тот момент, когда захлопнулась дверь камеры, а внутри толпа людей и мало воздуха! и стало страшно! Полное погружение!

We were looking forward to visiting this place but were surprised at the entry fee given that hardly anything is in English, so all the visiting foreign tourists like us could understand little. Shame!
