On the way to the way to the airport the leave Tortola we stopped at Long Bay Beach, we're glad we did. What a great beach stop once you have arrived on Tortola. Beautiful sand, water, and scenery, and not another person in sight, our next visit will definitely include a day on Long Bay Beach.
The beaches here are great! If traveling by boat you'll enjoy the other little islands along the way and the waters are crystal clear. The kids will have a blast!
A wonderful place to spend an afternoon. Be sure to bring beach shoes with rubber soles as there can be underwater rocks at some places near the waters edge. A good pair of polarized glasses helps cut the water glare and allows you to see through the crystal clear water. Sand is great and though the beach is not terribly wide, it is long. Water is good for snorkeling or bathing. If this was helpful please click the link below to let us know.
We rented a VRBO overlooking Long Bay Beach. It is one of the best and most beautiful beaches on Tortola - great for swimming and boogie boarding. It was never crowded, even though we were there during Spring Break. As a matter of fact, we had a hard time finding someone to take a photo for us on Easter Sunday, it was that empty!
We absolutely loved this beach! It was so serene and beautiful! There are really nice beach chairs to relax on and decent bars and restaurants. The water was a little rough though. Not sure if it's always that way, but it was a little scary just going in swimming. Definitely recommend this place to spend a day at!
We walked here from Sebastians, the view from the cliff was awesome. Once we got down to the beach the sand and water were nice. We met Nature Boy who has a small beach bar set up since 2009. Drinks and beer are $4, Very cool, he taught me how to weave palm. The outside of his little beach bar shack is surrounded by woven palms.
As others have mentioned in their reviews, there are two Long Bays on Tortola. This review is about the Long Bay beach near the airport in Beef Island. We stayed at Surfsong so this beach was a very short drive for us. It was practically deserted when we got there and it's a beautiful lovely stretch of beach. Other than a place to park, there's nothing else there but the beach so bring your own provisions.
Swimming can be a bit tough due to some rocks that must be traversed before getting to a sandy bottom, but it's worth the trek. This beach is great because if you get hungry or thirsty you can walk to one of two restaurant/bars that overlook the beautiful expanse of and satisfy your hunger/thirst without having to sacrifice the view. Peaceful with beautiful views of Jost Van Dyke.
We went to this beach on a trip from our cruise ship and it was close to the islands small airport,( looking at a map there seemed to be other beaches of the same name.It is a long horseshoe shaped beach with no facilities or vendors or sunbeds etc. There were 25 people on our coach, and when we arrived and got off, there were then 25 people on the beach. Coconuts floating on the shore, and you could get shade by sitting under the shrubbery just off the sand. Perfect !
we disliked remote location, quality of property and were very mislead by web site and booking agent
