We very much enjoyed our visit! I think we spent about 3 hours here during our visit. We did everything in the tour!
Definitely worth seeing in Tupelo Mississippi! Very interesting to learn the beginnings of Elvis Presley. Interesting to know that it kind of all started here in Tupelo Mississippi
We have an annual membership here and always enjoy taking friends and family that visit the area. See it all it is well worth it. Nice easy relaxing way to spend time with friends and family.
I've visited the Elvis Presley Center twice and enjoyed both visits. For me, it illustrates the American Dream and the notion that greatness can come from very humble beginnings.
What an amazing thing to have done. See his place of birth and where he spent his early years. Find out about his schooling. see the church where his family went every Sunday and Elvis learnt to play the guitar.See the Hardware store where his mum i and the store is unchanged since he went there that day. Incidently all of the staff at the centre are fantastic and hepful, kmowledgeable and welcoming. See life in the 1930s during the great depression. Hear about his dads prison sentence for fraud etc, Meet an Elvis and family that struggled to make ends meet. A family that eventually sold up to move to Memphis for a new start and everyone knows what happend after that. Elvis life journey is a brilliant journey to step into and follow his lifes footprint along with his family. An ordinary guy made good and boy did he make good. I recommend anyone to do this trip and make sure you follow all of the footprint. Tupelo, Memphis and especially The hardware store in Tupelo, it truly is a wonderful journey
Although I was never a diehard fan of Elvis, the EP Centre was a very moving memorial to a very talented singer. Of particular note were the accounts by childhood friends inscribed on the Story Wall and the Walk of Life, a walkway circling EP's humble birthplace, with dated stone blocks that inform visitors of his early years.
Though we are not great Elvis Presley fans, we spent over two and one-half hours at the museum. We enjoyed visiting Elvis's two room birthplace and church, as well as the museum. Visitors should definitely plan to see the two movies in the museum and church. The two docents we met in the house and church were enthusiastic and knowledgeable. We didn't know what to expect, but our visit was a real pleasant surprise (and Tupelo is a very nice town)!
Quiet Grounds that surround the Elvis Center include the Elvis Memorial Chapel and an old church building that is said to be the first church Elvis went to as a youth and learned to play the guitar. The old church was moved to this location and has undergone significant repairs to place in a nearly original state. This building has also been outfitted with a state of the art video system to allow for a short video program. Attached to the main center is the Elvis Memorial Chapel. This is a place of sober reflection upon the life of Elvis. The building is the showcase for many beautiful stain glass windows. A "Must Do" .. Also on the grounds is the Elvis Boyhood Home which is somehow reviewed separately on TripAdvisor.
this one is authentic, cleanly laid out, staffed by people who know what they're doing. the displays are clear and consistent. the quality is very high.
