It is dam i mean not much to see but a nice trip on a day when you have nothing better to do. Lots of places to sit with the family and have a bbq. I am not particularly a fan of bbq therefore didnt find this so incredible. May be to you though dont stop from going.
Our first stop in our Road trip. Nice experience taking the boat ride just to enjoy nature's beauty. Visitors have the option to stop at one of several restaurants in the lake.
Beautiful hidden lake in Utuado Region ! The ferry will opens the amazing region views and take you to the Rancho Marina Restaurant. Great food and affordable prices. Very nice place for a family trip.
Location was close from where we were staying in Arecibo. Beautiful location. We went on a day, unfortunately, we went on a day when o lay one restaurant was open. Due to that, we had no choice where to eat. Boat drivers will meet you with their restaurant menus. Look carefully at food and drink prices. The boat ride is free. Where we were taken was right on the water. It was like lively atmosphere was conducive to theholidzy spirit. The drinks and food were very good BUT very expensive. After all, this isn't Old San Juan where one would expect to pay at least $8. For a fancy drink. Monitors were $6., not too bad. We were most certainly taken aback at a $9. Margarita. A shrimp. O tail for one of the kids was $13. Look before you leap and enjoy. It is a very fun excursion for the whole family.
It is an excellent place to enjoy a relaxing boat ride through the lake and enjoy an excellent lunch at some of the family restaurants there and give life to this wonderful site.
Lake Dos Bocas is made possible due to the dam that was built to store water and generate electricity. It is a nice FREE boat ride. Best during the weekdays, as it will be full during weekends. Parking only holds 60 cars, and in addition to the lake tour, the boats also server some restaurants that only open on weekends and are only accessible by the boats.
Make sure to get a ride on the ferry and see the sights, make sure to visit the Restaurants on the area!
During my vacation I came to this lake twice. It was amazing just standing back and taking in the incredible views. There is a ferry service provided (free) that takes you around the lake and also stops at 3 restaurants on the lake. When we took the ferry, the restaurants still weren't open but it was definitely worth the ride. Since we missed the restaurants on the lake, once we came back to the dock we ate at a restaurant right up the hill called Saborealo. On such a hot day, we were able to go there and drink a refreshing beer and lunch on some good puerto rican food. Definitely worth the trip to Utuado!
the people in Utuado are nice, and this place is not to much like a city is just a calm beautifull nice place to live . not to bad guy's... and i feel really countable and secure in this city , and going to buy a land in a part of Utuado there call caguana, las pineaple.they have beautifull views all around. i really like this place.
One trip certainly worth taking is to see the Lake Dos Bocas region of Puerto Rico - the Utuado Region - and eating at the Rancho Marina Restaurant. A ferry trip across Lago Dos Bocas (the major interior lake of the mountain region) takes you right to the welcoming dock of the restaurant, where you will not be disappointed by the traditional Puerto Rican fare with a little more variety and new twists. The drinks are particularly fresh, varied, yummy and potent. Anyone at the Inn can tell you how to get there... there is a long way and a short way. However, only the long way involves the must-experience boat ride across the majestic mountain lake and shows off the interior beauty of Puerto Rico. Be careful not to get stuck driving in the dark - the restaurant closes early anyway. The last ferry left the restaurant dock around six pm, anyway. We returned to the restaurant a second time during our extended stay on the island, so our three sons could fish off the dock adjacent to the restaurant. They had a great time, reeling in some unusual varieties of fish that are only found in Lago Dos Bocas. A small crowd of kids gathered around by the time we left the restaurant, all having a great time - even receiving fishing tips and bait from the restaurant staff and even the owner! The owner is a particularly charming bi-lingual woman, who used to work in the restaurant of Casa Grande! You can tell she has a gift for creating a great menu and dining experience for all! Be sure to sample the different varieties of 'mofongo' - the most popular Puerto Rican dish - at Rancho Marina. It may not be your favorite thing, but the 'rancho-style mofongo' served at Rancho Marina was the tastiest we tried.
